I have missed some posts I guess, @goldensrbest.  I am so sorry you will need to give up your dog.

@ThinkingOutLoud @Excellent advice. I would add meditation and breathing exercises to reduce anxiety. And a heartfelt, I have officially hit rock bottom prayer. The Great Physician has the best answers, the best cures.

I am the OP of this thread--can't believe it has been a year for my relative---and can't believe this thread has been resurrected but good news for that dear relative is --she has been taking her meds for a year as well as getting weekly therapy too, and what a huge difference it has made. Like night and day----so there is hope. Woman Happy

@wagirl   That is great news for your relative.

I was talking with my brother yesterday, he suffers from depression, has most of his adult life.

He has been on many different medications, but unfortunately nothing has worked.

Some days he said it was difficult to get out of bed.  I know that he does his best to stay busy, exercises daily but it is a struggle.

I have never had depression but I do sympathize with him, I wish there was a magic wand.

@Mom2Dogs --yes, I know about trying to find the "right" meds can be a hard thing. My girl went thru the same  thing and found a dr that steered her to the right one. She tried it once before and it just didn't click--but now it does! Just weird how that happens. Yes depression runs in our family--my mom was extremely depressed but refused to do anything about it. It missed me but landed with the younger generation in our family. Tell you brother to try online therapy--is pretty easy and insurance will cover it.
