Very sorry to read this about your husband. You didn't mention the severity of his cervical area. I am hoping he is able to move all his limbs with no paralysis. Sounds like it was a pretty bad fall.
I know you just came back after not seeing you for awile on the forums.

I'm so sorry to read this thread. I hope your husband is doing better. Do not forget to take care of yourself. Often times a health crisis takes more toll on the spouse who is the caregiver.

@cherry wrote:Thank you everyone for your prayers and kindness. I went to the hopsital yesterday. My husband has a trauma team treating him. He went to the bathroom yesterday with help, and the nurse said he did very well.
He was xrayed again and 2 specialists evaluted his ability to speak and to remember and to retain information. He did very well they said
He called me a bit ago ,and said he might get to come home this afternoon ,if he does well with physical therapy
We are so lucky, it could have been so much worse. He is in a stiff neck brace and was able to sit in a chair today. I think the fact our home has 1/2 flights of stairs instead of the standard full flight of steps might have saved him ,and of course all the prayers. You guys are the best
I will try to check in and let you know if he got to come home
Prayers for you and DH @cherry.

This is the first chance I have had to post. My husband is back home. He has 2 cracked vertebrae close to his spinal column. The other injury was old and healed. HIs Dr told him he could come home. The physical therapist said he should go to a nursing home( He is wearing a rigid neck brace, and has a walker)
My husband didn't want to go to a nursing home. Lots of them aren't that great. He showed he could manage stairs and then the PT said you didn't do that well with the door. It was a big heavy hospital fire door!
My husband said I don't have any doors like that in my home and I think I did fine. She then asked if he had bed rails. He said no. We sleep in a king size bed and have never fallen out of it.
She was very young and probably felt anyone in their 70's is over the hill. We will be fine. A neighbor set with my husband while I picked up his scrips. The hospital are sending people to help him bathe. I got a shower stool and bath mat to aid them.
He got wonderful care, but the food was ghastly, even by hopsital standards.
I am so thankful things worked out so well. Many thanks to all for their prayers and good wishes
