No...not really.
It’s called the Sun. Free.

That's how it works but sometimes vit D becomes low when there's not enough sunlight hours in the day, especially in winter in the upper parts of the US. Cold weather and less sunlight means many people have to take supps.

I know what you're saying but I really do try to avoid excessive sun exposure. I have fair skin that burns really easily and have already accumulated plenty of unsightly brown spots from the sins of my youth. So I do take a supplement just to make sure I'm getting what I need. I haven't had my levels checked in a few years but the last test I had high vitamin D levels and I feel that validated the efficacy of the supplement I'm taking.

Too much Vitamin D can cause fractures & other issues.
I, too, have fair skin.
I just expose myself to the sun (10-15 minutes front & back)
during the summer months, and I’m good.
My diet, which is less inflammatory, helps with my vitamin d levels,
as well.
My doctor says, “low vitamin D in the blood is a result of being ill,
not the cause of sickness”....and “Vitamin D is a hormone synthesized
with the help of sunlight; it is not intended for oral intake or injection.”
People continually talk about ‘moderation’ then consume
large amounts of concentrated vitamins/minerals unlike the way
Mother Nature intended. That has to cause issues down the road.
IOM.

@sidsmom My doctor said that since we live in the rainy Pacific Northwest we need to duuplement vitamin D for our bones. We don’t get a lot of sun here most of the year.

I don't know about brands of digestive enzymes. I do know that antibiotics will disrupt your normal gut flora and make things not work so well in your belly. Whenever I have to take an antibiotic, I also take a probiotic along with it. Helps keep the good bacteria population in good numbers. I say let the good bacteria do the digesting and not take an enzyme to do that.
