@halfpint1,   It would be good for you to talk to someone because you are alone.  Is there anyone you can reach out to besides your son?  He may be overwhelmed with helping you and having a job (I really don't know your story so I am guessing).  Maybe you should have a cleaning lady once a week so you have someone to talk to.  Or, reach out to a church or any agents that help the elderly.  Take good care.

@AuntG,   That was kind of you to explain the situation.  It is sad when people are up in age and alone and one day it could be anyone.   That's what everyone needs to remember.  You never know what can happen in life and anyone can end up being alone so it is human to reach out to the person in need.

@QueenDanceALot  Maybe you need to step up your game.  My squirrel friends have been getting apples and other fruits, granola and cereal, bread, seed, etc.  

Come to think of it, maybe that's why I have 2 now instead of just one.  Perhaps they will start holding neighborhood gatherings in my back yard if I keep this up.

I saw the doctor today and gpt some pill. They say on them loss of sleep and appetite maybe. No good maybe but I will see.

@halfpint1  I certainly hope that the new medication doesn't cause you lack of sleep.  That's the last thing you need.  

Moving forward and something to consider - low dose Xanax is great for taking the edge off without turning you into a zombie.  It also does not give you insomnia or affect your appetite.

Xanax is certainly the right choice for some people. However, it can cause insomnia in some cases and it's highly addictive. That's why it's better to discuss your individual situation with your doctor.

I don't want to speak for halfpint1, but I believe the meds would be to address her insomnia and lack of appetite. I was very concerned about her not eating and hope the medication makes her feel more like her old self.
