Hi, @halfpint1!!  I'm glad your doctor is trying something to help you feel better.

I started on Pristiq this summer and had some stomach upset and was very tired for the first month or so.  I will probably have to go up in dose, but it is already helping me.  It did take time for me to see improvement though.

It really depends on what type of medication you're taking.  Some are fast-acting and some have to build up in your system for awhile before you feel better.  If you experience side effects that are really bothersome to you, don't hesitate to call your doctor and ask him/her what to do about them.

I hope whatever you were given will help, and that you will continue to stop in and keep us updated!!  Heart

@halfpint1  I certainly hope that the new medication doesn't cause you lack of sleep.  That's the last thing you need.

Moving forward and something to consider - low dose Xanax is great for taking the edge off without turning you into a zombie.  It also does not give you insomnia or affect your appetite.

@Bird mama

I agree about Xanax.  If one takes a small dose (.025 mg) at bedtime, it will help to relax her and allow her to sleep.

It's a shame that this helpful drug is so abused along with other drugs, because there were times in my life when I had panic attacks and nothing prevented them better, with no side effects.
