On my upper jaw line,  have been "growing bone off and on" for 2 years.

The dental surgeon should have given me an antibiotic when he first did gum surgery, but didn't.  The next day, that side of my face was twice the size and I was immediately put on antibiotics!

My gum didn't heal right, after the screw was put in, so it was taken out.  Nine months later (growing bone) another screw was put in!  Something happened.  We now have to have gum surgery durn it!

For a 10:30 appointment, prescribed antiobiotics have not been called in (no text from the drug store) and all of my phone calls went to voice mail.

You can't imagine how angry I am!!!

From now on, I leave with prescription in hand!!!

Re: Won't Do That Again!!!!!

@ECBG It sounds like you have been through a terrible ordeal.  I always request a  written rx when I leave due to past problems.  I live in a small town and for about a year we only had one drugstore in town and it even fills prescriptions for our local nursing home.  There is no way they could take on any more so we drove 26 miles to the nearest drugstore.  I pray that you will respond to treatment and be on the road to recovery.  You have certainly weathered a long bumpy road due to negligence it would seem.  I pray for your healing!!!!!

If I were you, I would make an appointment with another oral surgeon - or -dentist for another opinion. Once the appointmemt is made I would ask current dentist to send all records ( they do all of it electronically) to the dentist who will giving you the  2nd opininion. I would never see your dentist again.

I have already told them to call in the prescriptions the day prior so I don't have to go to the drugstore the day of the procedure

Thank you for your concern.  I just wanted to get the antibiotic going.  I almost went back over there.  I thought "Surely they will call them in at around 4:30 and I'll have it this evening-nope!"

Oh well, hind sight is always 100%!!!!!

Thank you.  This is an oral surgeon.  You can bet he will know!!!

He should have given me an antibiotic two years ago.  Everything is being done free.  I can't change as I paid for the initial work.
