I only have the Nadal match on for noise. I have a hard time watching him with his "habits" before each point. Especially that which pertains to "adjusting" his shorts every time before he serves.
Go Roger!!!!!!!! (Although I wish he wasn't playing against Wawrinka. I really like them both.)
My husband saw it. He honestly (at first) thought she was drunk or crazy. She suddenly could not bend over to pick up the ball. Of course she was neither. It looked more like a something affected her coordination. She did withdraw. So Serena is out of Wimbledon. What happened is kind of dangerous though. You can't suddenly lose your coordination like that. I hope we'll find out later today. So far, they have not given a reason.
I'm a fan of most of the players. Serena is still my favorite. I do love Helep. She is so gutsy. And very fast. My head says she can't win, because she is comparatively small. Most of the women average over 5'9" in height with ferocious serves and ground strokes. It would be a shock if she won Wimbledon. But anything is possible.

On Twitter: The word from the referee's office is that Serena Williams is suffering from a viral illness. #Wimbledon

Although I know they are very nice people, I am glad to see both Butt Picker Nadal and Orgasmic Screamer Sharapova out of the tournament. I'm sorry, but these actions take away so much from the game of tennis.

This isn't nice of me, but I can only handle about two rounds of Ms. Sharapova's grunting. I would have loved to see Li Na advance further than she did. I'm hoping that Roger Federer can make it to the finals. For the over 30s in professional tennis the opportunities to win majors does dwindle. No doubt we don't have many more years to enjoy watching Roger play. He has been a terrific representative of how a professional athlete should perform and behave on the job, and how he conducts his low profile private life is a style many should copy.

Maria might be out. But her boyfriend (who is the former boyfriend of Serena....no hard feelings by the way between Maria and Serena) Grigor Dimitrov will be in the quarter finals tomorrow. There are rumors he and Maria might get hitched. He faces Andy Murray. I will root for Andy. Serena moved on from him to her coach. Ain't love grand? Federer meanwhile faces Stan Wawrinka another Swiss. Of course I'll root for Roger. I don't want a nobody to win this thing.
The French Canadian lady Bouchard, will face that Maria killer, Angelique Kerber. I'll root for....Kerber! My sweetie Novak Dojokovic will also face a nobody, a Croatian by the name of Marin Cilic.
And of course Simona Halep faces Sabine Lisicki on center court tomorrow. First match.

They say Serena might have been dehydrated and had some infection which contributed to the confusion she was experiencing. I wish they wouldn't start saying she was drunk or on drugs. Why does the media go there? Anyway, it was probably very embarrassing for her.
So glad to see Roger play so well today!! It will be hard watching him play his pal, and fellow country man, Stan. But, it will be a quiet match as neither of them ever make a noise when playing. I don't know why some of them have to make that kind of noise. It's beyond logic. And, I've said before, Nadal and his habits... they are so distracting and bothersome.
I want to see Roger win this year so much!!! He deserves it! He's played the best so far at this Wimbledon tournament, winning in straight sets with each game. It would be so exciting for him to win and show the critics that he's still got what it takes! A Roger/Murray match perhaps?
Go Roger!!!!!

We (my husband and I) had settled down to watch the doubles match. The first game Serena seemed OK. She didn't hit anything. She swung once, and then missed and made an error. The second game, she hit the ball again.....and missed. The third game was when the "breakdown" happened. She seemed to sway. Couldn't pick up the ball that was tossed to her. Then she couldn't bend down and pick up the ball which kind of puddled at her feet. Then she started to cry. Time out was called. Finally she and her sister got up to play again, but Serena could not hit the ball over the net. Finally the officials called the William Sisters out and declared their opponents the winners.
I'm sure it was a viral illness.
