I don't like the thunder kind or chirping birds, LOL. I too like rain (near Seattle, so I could just open a window....); rain on a tent is a nice sound. and I also like train ride. so many to choose from. I LOVE Alexa!!!!

Hi Half-Pint!

It sounds like you have auditory hallucinations brought on by stress and grief. My mama is going through the same thing since my dad-- and now my brother-- passed away. She keeps hearing a loud clicking noise in the house even though my aunt and I don't hear it (we're staying with it). My mama also developed sensory hallucinations where she feels like there's bugs crawling all over to the point where she thinks she can see them. She's constantly vacuuming and setting off bug bombs even though there's nothing in the house. She's convinced she's getting bit and they're only targeting her.

Her doctor says the noises and feelings she has is due to grief and stress. My mama refuses anti-anxiety medication ("Your daddy would never take them, so why should I?") which may help, but she's against them. Her doctor even suggested group therapy, a psychologist, joining our local knitting group, or volunteering to help alieviate stress and to have company when my aunt and I are at work, but my mama doesn't want to leave the house. The clicking and "bug feeling" is strongest when my aunt and I aren't home.

Honey, please, please, please talk to your doctor. If there was anything wrong with your house, someone would have found it by now. If anything, call your doctor and tell him or her the issues you're experiencing. Maybe your doctor will point you in the right direction.

Have a blessed day. I'll add you to my prayer list.

@halfpint1

I’m sorry you are dealing with this.

i’m also surprised that your doctor won’t try an A/D.

My doctors could not wait to rx an A/D (for migraine pain) but this was 30 years ago. I take 1/4 tablet of mirtazipine each night, which I was told is not an clinically effective dose.  HA! It is for me and my doctor approves of it.

Any more than this (why would I take more) and I would eat every hamburger in America and still be hungry for more.

The DGC are given white noise teddy bears every night to fall asleep.

Good luck...please go see your doctor and discuss this. I am wishing an end to this for you❤️

I had a fan (pointed away from us) in the bedroom to cover up DH's and DD's (dear dog's) snoring.  We lost the pup we love, but it still runs for DH!

Absolutely talk to your doctor at your appointment.

I want to mention something that is the best tech item I have ever purchased.  Bose Noise Canceling Ear Buds.  The only go in your ear, not around your head.  They block all ambient noise and most everything else.  They are a life changing godsend.  I am a Road Warrior and wear them in every airport and flight.

My home office is in our finished basement.  The heat and air conditioner runs (to me) loudly.  I do not like it.  So, I just put my Bose ear buds in and voila - the AC and Heat noise is gone.

They are pricey.  They come with three sizes of the silicon pieces that fit in your ear, so you have to make sure you use the right size.  Best tech purchase ever.

Where did you buy the ear buds? I ask people if they  hear a machine going but everyone says no. It is driving me nuts that is why I got a machine to deaden the noise. It helps.

They are Bose, a very nice acoustic tech brand.  I got mine at Best Buy, but there are also Bose stores.  They are small and the pouch they are stored in fits in my palm.  My iPad is not letting me post a picture.  I’ll try to find another way to post one. Google Bose  Noise Canceling Ear Buds.
