My family knows to check every few hours just to see if I’m still breathing.   If so, they know to leave me alone.

@aroc3435   I totally agree about the hospital middle of the night routine.  I know it's their job, and I'm not trying to be mean,  just do what you need to do and go. Thank God the new hip was 1 night there. Every flipping time I  got into even a good doze someone called my name. Of course, up at the crack of dawn and after breakfast, a "sponge" bath,  a loop around the nurses station and am PT I wanted a nap. was in my recliner, finally comfortable with my head back just going to sleep.........my name. A group lunch with all joint patients from prevous day.  Finally, after the kumbyeah lunch, more PT,I got sprung.

For $118,000.00 a little rest would have been nice.

To be left alone...dh on the other hand wants to make sure I don't forget him....lets me know he is not well...it's the sighing that makes me crazy.....ha!

Everyone is different.  What bothers me the most is when I specifically tell others to not call or visit, and they insist on doing it anyway.  It makes them feel better but I feel worse. 

People need to listen to the ill person, and respect their wishes.

If I were elderly and really sick,  or had serious medical issues, I would want to be left alone, so if it happen, I could die peacefully.

@CrazyKittyLvr2   I feel the same way...just leave me alone but please be attentive enough if I call you on the cell to bring me what I need. (DH!)
