Re: What would you do in this situation

@I am still oxox  If you can catch her and have a good in person contact while she is out, do it.  I am "available" too when I am out of office but it's not the same thing as having someone who is still there day to day and completely hands on.

You can just frame it as you don't want to disturb her leave time with her new little one and just ask for an alternate on site who might be able to help with routine questions you may have.

She should appreciate you valuing her time and new addition and be happy to gve you a secondary contact so you are not "on leave" with her with your questions.

Totally agree with Nicsmom. I know for a fact some doctors overtest. This is how they make money. Do not be afraid to speak up for yourself. Only you know what is best for you.

I completely AGREE!!!

@I am still oxox I had your problem and had these shots in the 1960's and it changed my life.  But then I had not tests whatsoever before having the treatment.  I am shocked about a bone marrow test, unless they suspect some underlying issue.

It is NOT acceptable you were not told before.  I'd do a lot of thinking about being treated like that.

Re: What would you do in this situation

I was misdiagnosed several years ago. He kept chasing lymphoma. It wasn't. I had developed an auto immune disorder and every lymph node in my body was inflamed.

I was frightened and bullied into complying. The final straw came when he referred me to a surgeon. When I asked why, he refused to tell me. They saw me as an ATM, not a patient.

I found a doctor who had successfully treated others with my disorder and never went back to The Big Money Clinic.

MD's ordering tests to make more $$ = days gone by. Most MD's work for a hospital or consortium. They monitor the tests that are ordered to make sure MD's are not over testing. It costs the hosptial more if MD's are over testing. New day people, new day.

@roster Sorry,but I disagree.I know people in the medical field who work for these big consortiums who have given me an earful.The more they test & refer to specialists, even within the group, the more they bill.

@Sooner

Thank you it is not a shot, it it an infusion I will be hooked up to an IV from 2-6 hours depending on the dose I am getting, and this will have to go on for the rest of my life. I agree about not being told and it is and my doc will hear from me on Monday
