Re: What is with all the CPAP prescriptions?

That's what I wanted to know years ago when the doctor wanted me to go to the hospital for a sleep study. I told him no thanks. I'm really grouchy if I don't get my sleep. I heard they leave lights on in the room you are suppose to sleep in. I can say one thing if it's not pitch dark I'm not sleeping.

Even if I did need a CPAP I would not use it. How uncomfortable. I don't think I need one so don't know why he thought I should do a sleep study other then the Ins Co would allow it & pay it??? Just because Ins Co will let them get by doing certain tests does not mean they need to be done?

Re: What is with all the CPAP prescriptions?

I have a friend who uses a CPAP device. She needed her machine to keep breathing at night.

A machine can only be rented from a select group of approved suppliers. Then Medicare and insurance companies pay a great deal of money for some patients getting poor quality service and equipment.
