That didn't end up in the ER. Yesterday i had 181/107 and 175/103 . My chest was tight , but no pain , i took my bp medicine and it lowered it. I never miss a dose , but i had been taking it early evening and i am on low dose so i was told i can double it. My bp has been excellent till yesterday , i have had heart rate problems though.

For me I think it was around 163/95. I never took BP meds, but lost a ton of weight and now it's getting near normal. Last week I took it and it was 132/85. I have about another 10-15 lbs to go to reach my goal weight. I figure by then it will be very close to, if not in the'normal' range by then.

I think my highest has been 150/85. I was told by two eye doctors to not take blood pressure meds at night time, it should be taken in the morning. I just thought I'd tell you. I guess it can cause a stroke in your eyes if you go to bed after taking it. Why don't they tell you this when it is prescribed?? I am just glad I wasn't on it very long before I was told this.

@MW in Iowa Try sleeping on your left side. I know it sounds strange, but it helps. I had to lie on my left side an hour every morning and an hour every afternoon during my last couple of months of pregnancy to get my pressure down.

Please tell me you called your doctor? Those rates are too high!
"Sheps, M.D. A hypertensive crisis is a severe increase in blood pressure that can lead to a stroke. Extremely high blood pressure — a top number (systolic pressure) of 180 millimeters of mercury (mm Hg) or higher or a bottom number (diastolic pressure) of 120 mm Hg or higher — can damage blood vessels."

I don't remember what it was but I ended up in the ER b/c I was experiencing partial blindness in both eyes. All I could see was the peripheral and the things right in front of me were blank. Scared the %$& out of me. Doc said it was caused from high bp and to stop consuming so much caffeine which I was doing to stay awake during the night shift at work.

Funny you would mention caffeine , i gave it up months ago , i can't even drink black tea , let alone coffee , or it affects my heart rate. I now have to get on my sodium levels.
