I have tried everything non-prescription and nothing seems to work for long. They all work for about a week then quit. Does anybody use something that really works for them?

I take melatonin gummies from CVS, anywhere from 3-5 mg..whichever they have when I buy it (I haven't found the same one twice since buying them over a year ago.)
I have also used, in the past, "Sleep" which I found at Walgreens and Wal-Mart. My doc recommended that as she knew I wanted "natural" then, and that one was, supposedly.
Had good results with both, no side effects like nightmares or anything.
My BF takes CBD oil pills...has better luck with those than melatonin gummies, which he's tried also.

Daily exercise & fresh air. No medications needed. Yoga & mediation also helps.

Here's my variety of choices:
Melantonin my husband and I both take it. For me it lasts for 3 hours I saw there are some time release versions but we get ours free from our insurance plan.
red wine at least 2 glasses during the evening
milk a small glass of milk or almond milk works for me but it takes a while to kick in
Good luck

i take melatonin 2 times a week, sometimes less.
i use 3mg and take it about an hour before i want to be asleep.
it gives me a nice feeling of gradually feeling tired over the course of an hour.....then i sleep straight through the night.
my mother takes prescription zolpidem every night and has for almost 16 years now. she says she can barely sleep if she doesnt take it.

Nothing. I keep a routine, exercise 4-5 days per week, and I don't eat heavily after dinner. If I find I cannot sleep anyway, I read or watch something boring on TV until I can't stay awake. IMO taking "something" on a regular basis would become less effective sooner or later.

Alexa turns on thunderstorm sounds and it puts me right to sleep.

Nothing. I'm an expert at sleeping.
On the rare occasion when I get up during the night to answer a call of nature, when I get back in bed, I'll open my Kindle and within seconds I'm sound asleep.
