Did your doctor tell you that you shouldn’t take it every night?
I used it it several years ago and I think I took it every night
Hope you get some good sleep tonight.

Drythe: You are right. There is no problem with taking melatonin every night....my son has been doing it for years.....most of us actually need it. Just ask your local druggist. Sometimes they know even more than doctors even about products sold over the counter.

I agree with the poster that said to exercise! You are being too sedentary during the day. Get outside and get some fresh air! Your body is starving for it.

Dr. Richard Becker recommends magnesium, turmeric and Vitamin D.
This has been a life saver combination for me. I get the liquid gel extra strength magnesium.

Have you tried turning off your computer router at night to reduce EMF exposure at night? That might help you.

When I cannot sleep, I always read and then I fall back to sleep. However, sometimes I have a probem getting back to sleep and then I saw Dr. Oz saying that drinking some tart cherry juice will help as it has natural melatonin in it. I thought I would give it a try as it is not a pill or some wierd supplement so I went to my health food store and bought some of this juice (organic, no sugar added) and I could not believe it, but it did help me get back to sleep rather quickly. I only have this problem once in a while so I am not drinking too much juice.

@halfpint1 , I'm having trouble too. I can relate to what you said about the air vents, when I try to sleep in the extra bedroom the vents in there are loud for some reason.
Even prescription pills aren't doing it for me anymore. So many things come into my mind at night, some of them valid, some are nothing at all to worry over, its as if I can't turn my mind off.
Do you ever feel that way? Like you just can't totally turn everything off?
l walk about 3 miles a day normally, maybe I need to kick it up some, but hard to do with the heat what it is here.
I'm hoping this is a temporary problem for both of us.
As I recall you have had this going on for quite a while, I am so sorry. I know it stinks. Praying you find some way to get some relief.

What do I do? Get out of my recliner and climb onto 1 of my recumbent bikes. Can't sleep? Get up and move doing something that takes a little effort, not too much, not too little. Never fails me, BUTT! I seldom have a problem going to sleep, and 4-5 hours is plenty for me, be it night time or the wee hours.

Any nighttime medication make me foggy the next morning, but I think taking melatonin at night would be fine. You need some restful sleep.
