@judy0330 I agree, talk to the dr first. Are you saying that your doctor gave you the go ahead to drink the Miralax mixture instead of the colonoscopy drink instead?

That's over. You don't have to think about it for 5 years.

@Reilley Yes -- per the gastro doctor's instructions. Appparently I was late to this party. Friends I have mentioned it to have been using this prep for years. My husband has a colonoscopy in December and saw the doctor last week so I can give you the exact instructions from the instruction sheet. It says to take the Miralax with Crystal Light Lemonade or Gatorade but when I asked they said iced tea was fine. I also used a bottled lemonade -- not Crystal light -- which they also said was fine. Since I was switching off between iced tea and lemonade -- I mixed each glass separately and used ice. Here are the instructions:
Day before colonoscopy:
1. In the morning, mix the whole 238g bottle of Miralax powder with either 64 oz of Crystal Light Lemonade or Gatorade and refrigeragte. (No red or purple.)
2. At 1 pm take 2 Ducolax tablets with a glass of water and continue drinking liquids.
3. At 4 pm begin drinking the Miralax -- about 8 oz every 20-30 minutes until the Miralax is finished. Diarrhea is normal and will last a few hours after you finish drinking the solution. You are "clean" when bowel movements are translucent and brown stool is gone.
4. You may continue to drink clear liquids until 4 am.

@Reilley wrote:Congratulations! While I hadn't taken a poll/survey on this topic, I am sure many of us had the same scary thoughts prior to the first colonoscopy! It was a coworker that told me not worry about the procedure itself because you are asleep!, it's drinking all that "drink" that is the worst part of the whole procedure!
For me, the worst part isn't drinking the yucky drink, it's what happens afterwards. I just keep going and going and going.......

@KathyM23 wrote:@judy0330 I love ice tea, never thought about mixing the Miralax with it. I always mixed with water since I couldn't do the gaterade. I will difinitely ask my dr about ice tea the next time. Thanks for the suggestion.
I never found the Miralax/water combo to be too hard to drink, but this time my new Dr wanted 64 oz the night before and 64 oz the morning of. Was to much for me. I only did less than half the morning of. Never had to do that before.
@KathyM23 That's what my gastro group has been doing for years now, and that second dose is what absolutely does me in. The results just don't stop for me.
