I do this everyday for 30 minutes, I eat healthy and I listen to my doctor. I'm 68, I weigh 118 lbs and my waist measures 25 inches which hasn't changed since I was in college. I have to say that I'm doing something right...hopefully everything right.

I also never take vitamins on an empty stomach.
I have noticed that I feel much better and not so tired & groggy when I just don't eat simple carbs. I have been sticking to no: bread, cereal, pasta, cake, sugar, etc. However tomorrow is my son's birthday so I will indulge in a small piece of cake.

@SilleeMee 118 lbs...waist 25"...ok, now I'm jealous!!!
I used to walk on a treadmill but last year we gave it a- way. It was a very big one. I have started walking again since the weather is starting to warm up. I can only go for half a mile since my strokes but hoping to do more this summer.

Oh I'm sorry about your stroke situation.
Three years ago I got covid and ended up in the hospital for almost a month. It wrecked my lungs and kidneys very badly. Took a long time to get back to almost normal. I had trouble breathing and I couldn't do much of any kind of exercise like I used to but I kept at it slowly and then things seems to get much better. Still can't do some of the things I used to do but that's something I have accepted.
Good luck with walking and staying fit.
BTW, my treadmill is a giant older one. Those inclining treadmills are always big but they really give a good workout.

One that took me years to figure out has to do with my over acid stomach. It really helped me cut my pepcid in half and now there are days I don't need pepcid at all.
Before my coffee in the morning, I eat a banana, yogurt, or 1 piece of my whole grain bread. Also, now, I never take any meds or vitamins on an empty stomach. For the most part, I stick with something with fiber. For me, at least, it has made a big difference.
Do you have anything that has helped you that you would like to share?
I'm glad that you are getting some help from these measures. I have terrible stomach issues and I take 2 stomach pills a day and still not really great. I do a lot of the things you wrote in your post and they do help.
I feel drinking a lot of water is very helpful. If I am busy or away from home and get distracted and don't drink water, I feel bad and my stomach complains!
I had to do away with citrus fruits years ago, which I loved. This made a big improvement as well. I also try not to eat foods that have a heavy cream like sauce. Also, if I eat a lot of red sauce, my stomach complains.
I suffer from migraines and these have been greatly reduced with meds and also drinking a lot of water, trying to get a lot of rest (not easy when you have trouble sleeping), tryint to avoid stress as much as possible. I did away with caffeine and this has also helped.

@jubilant wrote:@wagirl I have found that cutting back on my computer also helps with my dry eye problem.
As far as the boiled eggs go....l love them....EXCEPT... I like them even better deviled or pickled so for now, I have cut back on the sugar in my pickling juice and am going to try Stevia next time! Baby steps!!!
@jubilant You might try a little non-fat Greek yogurt, lemon juice, even a little drop of hot sauce, in your deviled eggs and cut way back on the sweet pickles. Maybe just put a very few on top as a garnish.
@wagirl I'm going to try this in my deviled eggs....sounds so good!

I swear by fermented vegetables: sauerkraut, kimchi etc. it has to be raw, uncooked, no vinegar. It seems to have fixed my gut bacteria and as long as I don’t get stupid with junky snacks, no GERD and no more Pepcid at all.
I like the Wildbrine brand but you can also find some interesting local brands depending on where you live.
@bikerbabe I did try sauerkraut and couldn't stomach it. Tried it right out of the can. I wonder if there is a recipe that would make it more edible? Mom and Grandma made it but it was "Sauerkraut and Dumplings" which seems to defeat the purpose!!
I'm not familiar with Kimchi....will have to look that up.

I gave up sugar, bad carbs, and unhealthy seed oils almost five years ago (lost 150 lbs.), plus added intermittent fasting (sometimes OMAD) and am in the best shape of my adult life. I rarely get sick and bounced back rather quickly from my right radical nephrectomy done on on Feb. 12th.
My faith is rock solid and unshakable. I conduct my life daily in accordance with it.
I'm currently not taking any supplements and am in the process of re-evaluating my regimen to figure out, with my nurse practitioner, what's really needed and safe for me to take. No more taking something because I heard about it in a chat forum. No more mega doses either unless medically prescribed after a blood test confirms a deficiency.

@AngelPuppy1 My stomach issues started when I was 18 yrs. old. The coffee tends to get my digestive system started but I did switch to half decaf and half real coffee. Also drinking warm water seems to work better than cold. Too much red sauce or tomato sauce bothers me. I love tomatoes but they don't love me. I can get away with them once or twice a week but no more than that. The fruits I eat are pears and bananas. I drink 8 or 9 glasses of water a day.
