Re: Welcome to the September Exercise Thread

Hi all, Just peeking in quickly because it seems like the doo doo has hit the fan here at work and is spraying all over me.  Due to someone telling me specifically NOT to do something back in June and now it has become a HUGE issue that needs to be taken care of today.  Which it won't because well, it's a very long story dealing with a 3rd party information clearing website, which I hate.

I just wanted to let you know that the powers that be at La Blast finally got it through their heads that our demographic isn't young skinny 25 year olds and is developing different marketing materials showing older, heavier women and men enjoying La Blast!

Re: Welcome to the September Exercise Thread

Happy Friday, very warm and humid here..  I did do a long bike ride this morning though through the country roads, very quiet with cows, geese, and horses.  Lots of hills too.  I clipped my fitbit to my shoelaces but you don't get many steps with biking but I got over 15,000 yesterday and today got a good HR and good calorie burn biking.

Right now we are getting tons of thunder and lightening, poured and now dead still out and did I say Humid!!

Logan sure doesn't like it but he isn't like some dogs who shake and get so nervous.  We were just outside for him to potty and it thundered, he was fine.  He doesn't go running to hide anyways.  He just doesn't like it.  He's getting groomed next week, so much loose fur he really needs it.  He won't be happy with me though!

Foxxie there is one in every crowd, I kind of laughed though as she sounds very pushy regarding her book!

DrKelli doesn't sound fun getting this situation straightened out but I sure hope it goes okay for you.  Always drama wherever you go.

Nomless that Fit Tower comes apart and slides under the bed.  I watched the new Inspire Me Home Decor show.  It was very good, and I'm really glad to see someone besides Valerie, who i love, but this gal has more classy stuff so there is something for everyone.   I love the greys and creams she brought too and very reasonable.  Check it out on the recently aired.

I think I"ll get off here, too much lightening, have a good night!

Re: Welcome to the September Exercise Thread

Good morning everyone.  @bopper, we didn't get the rain but got the hot and muggy.  I had a long drive to and from my mtg yesterday and I wasn't uncomfortable but I wasn't as cool as I wanted to be.  My little four cylinder car doesn't cool well in this type of weather unless you turn the air on #2 but then it won't pick up speed quickly if you need to merge quickly.  Cheap car but affordable.

@Laura14, I know just what you mean about that Fitbit calling your name if you haven't made your steps.  I even try to beat my previous day.  In fact, I try to make that whole top area flash green.  When I came home yesterday, I didn't have 10,000 steps.  By the time I went to bed, I had over 20,000.  I walk in place, do chair exercises making sure that my arms are moving.  Btw, I see a but difference in my upper arms....more toned.

@DrKelli, I'm surprised that Le Blast didn't realize what the demographic was.  That's the first thing advertisers check.  Glad it worked out.

@nomless, Fit Tower but I'm sure it's more than I can do, lol.  I was looking at Susan Lucci this morning with he exercise chair and SMH.  While she looks toned, she skinny to the point that I think she's naturally that way.  I have her first chair that she was selling.  It's folded up under the bed....I think, lol.

I didn't make it to that WW open house yesterday.  I didn't want to drive again in the heat not to mention that it was going to be rush hour traffic.  I decided to stay home and do my in place walking instead.

Zumba and walking this morning.  I doubt if anybody will be walking outside today since it's hot already.  Dumb if they do.

Have a good day.

Re: Welcome to the September Exercise Thread

We're members of our town's YMCA.  They have a program called Silver Sneakers that meets three mornings each week.  We have an excellent instructor who makes exercise a lot of fun.  Smiley Happy

Re: Welcome to the September Exercise Thread

Hi, @AnikaBrodie, thanks for posting. I've heard a lot of good things about Silver Sneakers. I hope you'll keep posting....we love to hear about what activities everyone is doing. This is a friendly group, we like to encourage each other.

I did a cardio session today...somewhat longer than I've been doing, but only on treadmill and bike. Didn't feel like tackling the elliptical.

DrKelli, it sounds like you have a big mess to deal with at work, not of your doing. My heart goes out to you....so not fun. I hope you can put it behind you quickly. Way to go with the LeBlast marketing.. 😃

Bipper, I didn't see the new decor show. I'll watch for it in the future.

Hi, Foxxie and Mick and Judy.

Lucy, I was happy to see your post. It sounds like maybe things are on a more even keel for you and family?  Hope so. I hope you're having fun picking things out for the house.

Re: Welcome to the September Exercise Thread

Good morning, everyone.  Hi, @AnikaBrodie, I've heard of Silver Sneakers and it sounds like a good program.  Most people that I've heard speak of it get it thru their Advantage insurance program for free.  At least that's the way it was....things change so rapidly these days.

@nomless, that elliptical is tough.  Hurts my knees like stairs do.

Walking a couple of miles today after my WW meeting.  I was gonna make chili today and just looked for my tomato paste or tomato sauce and there is none.  Jeese....I always have those.  I hope Walgreens has some cause there's one right next to my meeting.  I really don't want to stop at a big grocery store full of people for one item.  Big problem, huh, lol.

Have a joyful day everyone.

Re: Welcome to the September Exercise Thread

@Mmsfoxxie, my Walgreens has both tomato paste and sauce. They're the Walgreens house brand. Your store probably has them, too. I hope you have a good result at WW. Enjoy your chili. 😊

Re: Welcome to the September Exercise Thread

@nomless, yes, they had their brand tomato paste.  Yeaaa!  And finally remembered to buy some Vicks Vapo Rub.

I only lost half of a pound but that's ok considering I had that Red Hatter Luncheon on Thursday and the Monday before that, went to Red Robin, lol.

I need to be vacuuming, too, but I'll wait.
