Re: Welcome to the May Exercise Thread

Good morning everybody.  Weather is still gloomy but my side of town didn’t get much rain.  We’ll see how much of the rain will miss us today.

I hope everybody had a great weekend.  Mine didn’t start out too well but, lol, I’m over it.  The lady I bought my brunch ticket from is giving me a refund.  She says there were several people that didn’t find the place.  I was glad to hear that so now I don’t feel so dumb.

All three of my sons called me yesterday, which was nice.  Two had sent me gifts.....flowers, bath stuff and candy.  Interestingly, the son that didn’t send me anything, my grand daughter’s father, bought his wife this big fancy Mother’s Day cake and balloons.  Did this last year, too.  I’m not mad, just think it strange, especially that she puts it on FB for me to see.  My son doesn’t make a lot of money but she gets $30,000 a year from her mother’s estate.  Goes through it in six months.  My pension is less than that not including my smaller pension from my ex, lol.  Overall, I had a nice day.  Dinner was from Culver’s, including an ice cream sundae, lol.  One pound gain this morning, btw.  Oh, well, who’s counting and I enjoyed it.

@JudyL, so glad that you’re still getting better.  @Laura14, was it your birthday and I forgot which is the reason for the dolls?  I remember when Qvc and Hsn sold those beautiful and expensive dolls.  I have at least one.  I wonder why they stopped.

Senior Cardio and Strength and Motion (cardio and weights mix) this morning.  Oh and to the post office to return shoes from Evine.  I’m through with ordering shoes from them.  You can’t believe these hosts when they say stuff like “if you’re pa half size, order up”.  Then you get the shoe and it’s way too big.

”Make it a great day or not.  The choice is yours”.  Love that statement.

@Mmsfoxxie  It was a belated birthday/congrats on passing your exam kind of thing.  I appreciated the gesture but I really didn't need any more dolls especially after just cleaning out the basement!  LOL

Re: Welcome to the May Exercise Thread

Good morning everybody!  What a rainy night we had.  But we were in exactly the right place for it....home.

@MickD, good for you, running for over half an hour.  I can’t run, period, lol.  Was that this morning already?  I’ve been awake since about 4 am watching tv and now sipping coffee.

Workout agenda:  Body & Sculpt, Flexibility and then Zumba.  Have a great day everyone.

And @nomless, how are you lately?  I know you’re our quiet one but just checking anyway.  Hope you are well.

Re: Welcome to the May Exercise Thread

I am about to be rained on for the next six days so I got myself off to the gym this morning for my normal Pound and Power combo.

Instructor asked if I had my card.  If I take a class, bring a friend, buy a shake, do the hokey pokey, I get a t-shirt.  No thank you.  I just cleaned out my basement.  I am collecting nothing no more until the home is ready.

So I've been up since about 2am catnapping until about 4:30am so I am tired but I did all my weights in Power and got through Pound.  Everyone decided to jump on top of me especially this one chick.  The teacher actually came and asked her to move up and she refused.  I just don't get why you need to be on top of people when the entire room is free.

Adonis was a no show.  His mirror must be enjoying his physique or he is still ticked off at being yelled at for throwing weights around.  He was NOT missed.

Nudie came walking in at the last minute up off the street and she must be getting memos because she keeps walking in with the nice coverup outfit.  My eyes haven't been assaulted in about a week and I thank her for that.

Mr. Clean showed up and tried his best to do the choreography which is a complicated right foot and then the left foot.  I don't know what it is with men and directions.  They can't follow them to save their lives.  Luckily I am wearing my glasses today so I just took them off so I could block him from my view.

Anyway, @nomless I am also sending a shout out.  I know what it's like after you lose your pet.  I still write in my journal to her when I need to.  I hope you have something to make your days a bit easier too.

Have a good Tuesday all!

Re: Welcome to the May Exercise Thread

Morning everyone, yesterday was beautiful about 70 degrees, this morning it's 45 and high of only 48, in another cold pattern for a few days. The lake still has ice on it, quite a bit actually so when that wind blows off the big lake it's our refrigerator.

Hubbies colonoscopy yesterday went well, i was at the hospital for most of the afternoon and we had to wait a long time, they were running behind, I walked outside while he has the procedure so got my steps in.   Not sure what today will be, probably Total gym and hopefully a dog walk, it's windy out and I am not a fan of walking in the cold with wind.

My trail is still under water so to speak so hard to get around it to get to where I normally go.  I managed to cut through the woods though but that wasn't easy either.

Sounds like everyone is keeping up with their choice of workouts and doing well with recovering from injuries and surgeries.  Seems there's always something we have to work on as we get into the senior years but as nomless my dear friend says Do your best and forget the rest, Tony Horton's saying.

Have a great rest of the day!

Re: Welcome to the May Exercise Thread

Good morning, all!  Wow, I am super busy at work and having the Phoenix class on top of it just adds to it.  I'm trying not to complain because the extra money is generally my vacation money.

Yesterday I did Quick Fit and today is our small group strength training.  My trainer is going back to England for about 10 days and last week he says "Do you want me to have someone fill in for me for our Friday sessions?"  I said NOOOOO. And he comes back with "Then what are you going to do for your Friday workout".   uh nothing.  Apparently, that was not the correct response.

Hope you all have a good day--hopefully things settle down a bit and I have a few more free minutes in the day!

Re: Welcome to the May Exercise Thread

Good morning everyone!  Yesterday was mostly cloudy but  it was in the 70s, no coat so I enjoyed it.  Today is supposed to be great...the sun will appear.  Yea.

@DrKelli, just face it.  You’re a workaholic, lol. Sometimes I wish I were.

No workout today because this is the day to go see Hamilton.  I’m in the balcony so I hope I at least have a decent view if not great.  Most importantly, I have to make sure I take enough Dramamine so that I don’t get sick on the bus.

Enjoy your day, Ladies.

Re: Welcome to the May Exercise Thread

Good morning, all!

@Mmsfoxxie, I am SOOOOOO jealous that you are seeing Hamilton!  I would love to see it again!  The 'singing' is really rapid fire and I didn't catch some of the words, but I still enjoyed it.  The visual isn't as important as the story being told if that helps.  It was so fantastic.

Today started as a very aggravating event.  I was trying to get to work early so I could grade a couple of papers, but I ended up stuck in traffic for over an hour.  Bah.  I have to get 12 more papers graded tonight because my friend from Washington DC is going to be here tomorrow night.  I haven't seen him for a long time and we are going to celebrate our birthdays early--mine is next Friday and his is the 31st.

Restorative yoga for me today--I can't wait.  I was so sore yesterday that I could hardly walk.

Hope you all have a good day!
