@sidsmom @Laura14 I've been running this trail for 10 years and this is the first encounter with an idiot cyclist.....I just can't believe she was able to stay on her bike going that fast.
During the week I rarely see anyone....I am sure she was thinking the same thing. Good thing I wasn't a child or dog.

@MickD Exactly! A bike can kill someone as fast as car can and I almost watched it happen right in front of me.
@sidsmom Talk to your friends who think it's funny to buzz pedestrians at a fast pace that could seriously injure or harm someone which I have actually seen happen in front of my face, twice. If I had great experiences sharing the road as a walker with cyclists, what do you think my post/opinion would evolve to be? It's a two way street, literally.
I am now done with this topic. Not what this thread is about.

@Gemspirit, and we're happy you found us and posted! All are welcome.
It sounds like you've had significant health challenges but have been determined to find ways to keep on being your best self. Your story is so inspiring.
The group here does all kinds of activities. As for me, I worked out for years with dvds, free weights, cardio equipment, etc. That all came to a halt a year and a half ago when I took a part-time job as a library aide. It's hard work! And now my days off are recovery days. I need to get back into consistent exercise again and have gotten several yoga dvd programs...but I haven't started any of them yet.
Bopper uses her Pilates reformer quite often. She can answer questions you mght have about it.
Welcome to the thread. Thanks for posting. ☺

Good morning everyone. Looks like last night was a calmer night weatherwise. More rain expected later, though. In some parts of Chicago, north, a few roofs were torn off!
Welcome to our group @Gemspirit. I'm hoping you will enjoy sharing your workout activities with everyone as much as I do. I have a Fitbit that I love but not that one. I can't think of the model that I have but also reads how long/well that I sleep. As far as accuracy goes, I don't think that any of him are 100%. Steps are definitely off. I look at it as a good guideline, though. Straps break periodically, too. Sounds like you're a senior like me. I'm 70.
Well, yesterday, I ended up walking about a mile since I had some time between my 8:15 am class and the 9:30 am one. I didn't want to be idle for a whole half hour. I ended up doing two Zumba classes since the BeMoved instructor took a sick day and the Zumba teacher subbed for her. I'm seeing the podiatrist next Wednesday to know the status of these old feet. I'm hoping to also get a recommendation for the best workout shoe for me.
This morning, I know I'm doing Senior Cardio for sure. Maybe some walking, too. Have a great day everyone!

Good morning, all! We finally have sun again today! And the weekend is supposed to be really nice too. I've told myself that if I do 4 chores that I don't like, I can sit in the sun for awhile. I need to finish unpacking from my cruise and put my suitcase away, fold my laundry from last weekend, clean off my dining table and put away some stuff I ordered. I also need to pull weeds from the rocks in the front yard, but that won't take long.
@Mmsfoxxie, I have foot issues and my podiatrist recommended PowerStep insoles. You can get them through Amazon or at many drug stores and they are less than 30 bucks. He wears them and says they are just as good as the 400 dollar ones from Good Feet. My arches are almost nonexistent and the insoles really help.
Yesterday was Zumba and we had a new student in class. That poor girl couldn't keep a beat and was always moving the wrong direction. I hope she comes back so that she can keep practicing. I was bad when I started although I could keep a beat to the music.
I hope you all have a great day and a great weekend!

@Gemspirit Welcome to the group!
I do occasionally use the reformer and it is great.......especially if you have aches and pains. It really helped me recover from back issues. I've had it for about 15 years.
My son is a swimmer and we just put in a pool with a swim jet. He's gonna teach me proper form this summer.....if I don't drown!
