Re: Welcome to the May Exercise Check In

PpprMintPatty- nice going! You insipre me to do a little BOOT camp workout! I like the idea of the tire--gotta try that. I'm so jealous you have nice weather. Raining (3rd day in a row) very humid here!

At least they played great music at the gym this morning. I was laughing the whole time (hope people don't think I'm nuts), but they were playing the B 52's, the Go-Go's all the music I listened to when I was in jr high/high school! It made me smile!

Bopper- I agree with you- Patience is a virtue, and I will practice it with my bird friends. I love being in my backyard with all the trees. I have lots of hemlocks, white pines, redbuds, oak, maples, mimosa's---lots of flower beds...so I attract all kinds of wonderful birds. I love to point out the more rare ones to my sons, they are so special to see up north!

MickD- Sounds like you are an avid runner. I envy runners. I see so many at the gym running for hours, but my ankles are so weak, they always hurt after I've tried running. I guess I have to stick with what works for my body. Do a run for me, okay?Smile

Have a great day ladies. Happy Memorial Day Weekend- woo-hoo!! Bring on the sunshine!

Re: Welcome to the May Exercise Check In

mtnbikegirl, I know what we won't be doing again...yesterday we went out on our bikes and the traffic has gotten crazy! No more of that during the week unless we hit the trails. But, yes, I said the same thing...old-fashioned Bootcamp style and it felt good.

The tires work everything...could even feel my legs and core.{#emotions_dlg.thumbup}

Okay, dh just got back from another run so guess I better go too, he is dripping wet. We didn't go fast this morning because of Lucy plus we just enjoyed each others company and the great outdoors.

My arms are still shaking!!!{#emotions_dlg.unsure}

Re: Welcome to the May Exercise Check In

Morning, did a power walk outside this morning. Finally felt nice, about 55 and sunny..supposed to be in the upper 60's this weekend.

We too have to worry about ticks. We live in the country and on the edge of woods so I don't let Logan off leash when we go on the trial. Not until I get his tick medicine.

I want to till the garden this weekend but we can't find a tiller to borrow. Don't want to put out money to rent one. The area isn't that big but with both of us having bad backs it's hard to turn over the soil by hand with a shovel.. I have to get my seeds in or they won't have a chance since the growing season is so short here.

Hoping everyone has a great weekend!

Re: Welcome to the May Exercise Check In

Hi everyone! Did the treadmill 2.75 mi./34 min.....and I feel fantastic...wish I could run everyday...

Patty ~ Yesterday the local news featured a trainer with his "pit stop" program...where ya' have to run around the huge tire, in and out of it, pick it up and down....looked really fun and intense!

Have happy and pain-free weekend!

Re: Welcome to the May Exercise Check In

Morning, my first bike ride of the season and it's a beautiful day. 13 Miles along the Lake which has lots of ice floating around...was pretty for as far as I could see. A fishing boat here and there between the ice...

May try and get the garden turned over...but don't want to do anything stupid to further hinder the back which is not 100% yet...

Hope you all have a good day!

Re: Welcome to the May Exercise Check In

Happy Saturday everyone!

I'm soooo sore from yesterday!! I didn't even realize how sore my chest was until I started to run...under my arm-pits and down the sides are super sore, had trouble getting my shirt off.

10 miles on foot so far and we did a killer leg work-out at the amphitheater again...Box-jumps, lunges, squat jumps, and step-ups. Too nice for the gym!

MickD, you'll get there, you're doing good!

bopper...be careful with the back, I was going crazy with Box-jumps and bam, mine spasm'd again and I thought for sure I was going down! Comes out of nowhere!

nomless....miss seeing you here! Hope everything is going well.

mtnbikegirl...they were playing the best music when I was in Macy's up in PA!!! I loved every song and caught myself getting down a couple of times...lol.

Waving to everyone else...that's as far as my page goes so don't mean to miss anyone.

We saw the Rolling Thunder this morning...too cool! Went to The Farmer's Market, are eating lunch now and then think we're biking out to the lake. My legs are feeling the WOD though...might have been a bad idea to sit.{#emotions_dlg.unsure}

Okay, have a wonderful day everyone!!!

Re: Welcome to the May Exercise Check In

Good morning!!! Beautiful day here!! When I left on my run it was 51* and when I got back it was 66*!

I ran over 11 miles this morning!! My longest since we've lived here.{#emotions_dlg.thumbup} If it wasn't for that hip/butt/sciatica thing I have, I could have gone further...but it was getting warm with the sun beating on me, didn't have any water, lower back and knee were hurting...so what's the point.Wink

But my heart-rate and breathing were easy-peasy though, could have talked the entire way. I sure wish I could find a long-distance route without any hills but that isn't going to happen here.

DH is golfing with his buddies. So...not sure what the rest of the day holds for me.

Hope everyone is healing and doing well!!! {#emotions_dlg.thumbup1}

ETA: Since I corrected a spelling error...up to 15 miles now...had to take Lucy back out(she didn't go with me on my long run obviously) to round off my number...lol. I want to go kayaking since we have so much work to do this week to leave town again. See if dh's shoulder can handle it after golf and the past two days. {#emotions_dlg.rolleyes}

Re: Welcome to the May Exercise Check In

Hi all,

Went to brunch this morning with hubby. I got mine free for May birthdays so that was very nice. Then went to the Cemetery and visited with my mom. All the flags are up so it was very pretty in there. Mom's grave is right near a pond so I sat on a bench and reflected. Then went to my dad's house to visit with him...a good day thus far.

No exercise today...it's finally warmed up here for today anyways LOL it was 87 when I got home. The lake is still full of ice..so it's pretty bizarre...but cool non the less, literally Haha..

Have a wonderful weekend!

Re: Welcome to the May Exercise Check In

Sooo, I have a question (as usual {#emotions_dlg.biggrin}).I'm looking at the Total Gym. There's two that sells for the same price of 299, F11466 with 10 attachments (shipping is 2.50 more) and F09984 with 8 attachments. I can't seem to figure out the difference between the two (attachments?). Would one be any better than the other. I know one has better easy pay and it doesn't seem as if they are going to offer free shipping anytime soon {#emotions_dlg.sad}. I'm leaning towards F11466 only because I like the color. Please give me your input. TG owners is there an attachment that you wish you'd gotten with yours?
