Re: Welcome to the June Exercise Thread

Good morning, everyone!  Lots of nice conversations going on.  So happy that you were a success, @DrKelli.  Any little mistake you made probably wasn't noticed or it brought a little laughter, which is good.

@Laura14, how long do you have to wear your cast and how high up does it go?  @bopper,  good to see your father able to get about again.  It's so nice that you and he get along.  My father is 90 and lives alone.  We talk check on him from time to time but he was not a good father as we were growing up and it's hard to push that aside to the point that we act like one big happy family.  I only call him because he is my father.  He was a wife beater among other things that I won't bring up because it's depressing even after all of these years.

@nomless, your feet must be ok now?  Or you just try to grin and bear it?  I do that, too.

@bopper@JudyL, glad you are enjoying life as you should, too.

My little three day trip with the Red Hatters starts Tuesday morning and I'm really looking forward to it.  Yesterday it bought another purple top, layer it down next to my other purple tops and see that it's more blue than the others but hey, I'm wearing it as purple because that's what the tag said.....intrepid purple, I think was.  It was be nice if the the organization used purple hats instead of red hats.  IMO, red and purple look garish together.  But then, maybe that was there point because they do get a little loud at their conventions that I viewed.  Old but not dead I guess, lol.

Friday!!  A cardio class and a nice walk is my agenda this morning.  Ohh, I meant to mention yesterday....I took my Evine purchase of pants to UPS to return because they were too small and was shocked at what it would cost.  $10.72!!!!  I was shocked and said never mind.  The pants only cost a little over $20.  Light weight and in a plastic bag.  Weighed less than a pound.   I'll take my chances and return them via the post office.

Have a beautiful day everyone.

Re: Welcome to the June Exercise Thread

Happy Friday!   It's beautiful this morning, 60 and sunny.   I'm walking again as tomorrow and Sunday unfortunately is almost a steady rain both days so I'm taking advantage of getting out again today.   I noticed the route I walk, ( shoulder of busy road) there have been so many big truck, logging trucks with double loads too.  Makes me nervous as they pass next to me and on as close to the ditch as I can get trust me!  There i so much construction around here that it's detour roads for these big trucks.

foxxie that is a ridulous price to ship something back, more than half the cost of the pants!  It's hard buying online.  I know there are sites that have free shipping and free returns and I think some people are choosing those sites.  I've been watching Evine more than the Q lately.  Have 3 items that fit and I've kept.  I don't care for the dress today though, for me personally I'd look much bigger than I am in it.

Have a good day everyone!

Re: Welcome to the June Exercise Thread

@Mmsfoxxie  3 weeks!  Smiley Sad

They did a cast from the middle of my hand to just below my elbow.  I asked him to please let me have my elbow so I could actually dress myself and drive and he was good with that.  I am so very lucky that this has been as simple as it is although I am beyond over this cast already.  I bought a product from Amazon last night and paid for the two day shipping so it'll be here tomorrow.  It's alcohol wipes on a flexible stick to clean your skin underneath.  It can not come fast enough!

Re: Welcome to the June Exercise Thread

@Mmsfoxxie, shipping is ridiculous.  I have really limited my purchasing from the shopping networks because of it--especially with clothing and shoes.

@Laura14, I was in a cast for 8 weeks (well, a boot, but I had to wear it 24/7) 5 summers ago and it was so miserable, so you certainly have my empathy!

Hi @bopper@nomless and @JudyL and anyone else who peeks in.

I have an appointment with the nutritionist at my gym today before my strength training workout.  It should be interesting.

My company picnic is tomorrow and my best friend from junior high is going with me (I get tired of attending events as a single).  It's supposed to be less hot (in the 80s as opposed to 90s), but I hope they have shade because it is at the hottest part of the day.

@Mmsfoxxie--I'm sure you know that the Red Hats are based on a poem, where the author talks about wearing purple and red, right?

I hope you all have a great day!

Re: Welcome to the June Exercise Thread

Good morning everyone!  YEA it's Friday!  Going to warm up quite a bit for us here by the Bay, it'll be even worse farther inland.  So not used to the heat that when we do get what we call a "heat wave," I do not cope well!  LOL

Tomorrow is WW weigh-in day so always try to be good the day before.

Hope everyone has a wonderful Friday!

Re: Welcome to the June Exercise Thread

Foxxie, thanks for asking about my feet. Going to the podiatrist was a good decision. She removed the call us, and It's been fine since. No more hurting, and the skin is nearly back to normal. There's only a tiny place where the skin is still a bit thickened. I'm being very careful to do awaits correctly to be sure it doesn't happen again.

Wow, we had a scary storm yesterday evening. Lots of rain and wind. In some parts of town, 100 mph straight line wind! Yikes. It wasn't that bad there, but it was bad enough. I was scared that trees might come down and knock out power. Fortunately, non of that happened here. Lights flickered once or twice, but power stayed on and the trees are ok. Other parts of town weren't so lucky. Whew. I was glad when it was over.

Re: Welcome to the June Exercise Thread

Good morning, everybody.  Another muggy day coming up but that's ok.  I notice at my fitness center that even though it's cool, it feels kind of clammy after working out a while.  Moisture in the air.

@DrKelli, thanks for the link.  Yes, I've seen the poem many times.  They have it on the Red Hatter website and FB.  It's a cute poem and I can see that it reflects a lot that they do.  Fun and silliness (at least at their conventions) abounds.  The one luncheon that I attended with a group was fun/enjoyable but I wouldn't say silly.  One silly thing (on purpose, I'm sure) is wearing red with purple.  Personally, I don't like the combination.  If you're under fifty, you wear pink and purple, much more agreeable.

@nomless, glad to hear that you're better.  I thought about you when I was getting my pedicure the other day.  I've always had a callous on my big toes, especially the left one.  Well, since I've been walking everyday, it's getting to be more of a problem.  It rubs against my walking shoe as I walk and I can feel it.  Uncomfortable but not at the hurt stage.

Great seeing you on, too @bopper@MickD and @JudyL.  Take care everyone.

Re: Welcome to the June Exercise Thread

@bopper, I'd rather donate an inexpensive item than pay $10.72 to ship it, lol.  I took it to the post office yesterday and it cost me $4.09.

Glad you're better, @Laura14.
