Re: Welcome to the July Exercise Thread

Wahooo!!  Guess what ladies!  I worked out for 40 minutes this aftenoon!  YAHOOO!!  I did a lower body PiYo workout and 15 minutes of BodyGym upper body.  And I feel ok!  Keep your fingers crossed that tomorrow I won't have any problems other than maybe some sore arm/leg muscles.  LOL

Otherwise my Saturday was pretty normal - did some housework, grocery shopping, etc.  Now I'm going to watch a little tv while I do some scrapbooking.

Hope everyone had a nice day today!

Re: Welcome to the July Exercise Thread

Congratulations @JudyL! Hope you don't suffer any ill effects.

I went hiking at the Mines and Iowa is a beautiful state. More wild than the park I walk at home and the river is gorgeous. I love the Mississippi. It makes me feel good. I'll probably head downtown today to the riverwalk and work on my writing.

Before hiking, I took myself to Michael's and spent a bunch of money on putting together a journal and several necklace pendants. I also found a few decor items for myself. After hiking, I spent a few hours in art therapy. I am so not artistic but I did a good job if I do say so myself.

I hope everyone has a great Sunday. 😊

Re: Welcome to the July Exercise Thread

Hi everyone!  I have already forgotten what I read from the time it took me to sign in.  I had to increase my steroids again...back at Doctors on Wed...and trying some Benedryl at night again.  See if I can get this flare under control.  Been up since 4 with hives on my knuckles and wrists itching like crazy...my mind is very foggy.

We're actually going on our trip today even though I look hideous...face all swollen, especially my darn eyelids...ugh.  I can't even imagine what I'd look like not on these steroids..I'd be in the ER.  I've been on them for so long, they're very concerned about my bones and other things.

Yesterday was non-stop...cleaning, packing, we drove to buy son a new Mac laptop for school and took our bikes and went on a long, hot, hilly, humid ride from there...bleck.  I'd already walked/ran Lucy and did weights before we left, and after being up all night, not feleing well, hotter than I thought, in a flare, etc...lets just say it was not an enjoyable ride for me.  Other than the 100* weather ride to Occoquan that one time when the guy pulled out in front of me and I broke both my arms...well, this one was a close second...lol.  I'm sure I was a real pleasant companion for dh - NOT!

Laura...I love Galena!  My bff's sister worked there for years.  I used to work at the ski lodge there.

I just typed some and erased it because I don't want to leave anyone out so will just wave to everyone.  Please pray I don't end up in the ER on our trip...I have my Epi pen but I'm getting afraid to eat or touch anything.  Sure hope this isn't a big waste of money.

We hope to get in a lot of biking, walking, kayaking, swimming, and a nice sunset sail....and good food!  Have a great week everyone!

Re: Welcome to the July Exercise Thread

Happy Sunday Funday everyone,

Pouring rain here and looks to be al all day rain, our yard is puddling right now.  Only in the 60's but with the rain, so muggy!

Laura sounds like a good day yesterday, you did a lot of fun things.  Are you a crafty person?   I wish I had some artsy talent, I do not!

Iluclucy I hope your trip goes so well for you.  You need this!  Praying your health improves and you see beautiful sights, and great dining and relax.  Safe travels to you!

Judy you did great with your workout and feel good!  Hooray!!!

Nomless I love the candle TSV, but can't afford it.  I shouldn't watch today LOL

Enjoy your Sunday!   (ps this falls picture is only 60 minutes from me)

Re: Welcome to the July Exercise Thread

Hi everyone!  Feeling pretty good this morning.  No back or hip pain.  Maybe just maybe I can start up again!

Bopper - I am so tired of all this Christmas in July stuff already.  Don't get me wrong, I like Christmas but I'm already over it.  The TSV candles today seem really expensive to me so I won't be getting them either.  What happened to the nice set of battery operated candles in the $30 range - $88 for 4 candles seems rather excessive.  Anyway, I know it's all competition and retail and all that but wish the stores wouldn't do this Christmas in July stuff, it's just too early and by the time Christmas rolls around, I'm tired of the holiday.  LOL

ilovelucy - Hope you feel better soon and can enjoy your trip.  Don't know how you stay so active when feelling so bad - I don't think I'd be as good about it!

Looks to be a typical day here today - foggy in the morning with sun in the afternoon.  Shouldn't be in the high 60's low 70's today.  Perfect, I love it.

Have a good Sunday everyone!

Re: Welcome to the July Exercise Thread

Judy, yay that you're feeling better.

Lucy, I wish you were feeling better, too. I'm sorry you feel so bad and have to do the steroid thing.  Have a good trip.

Laura, you had a pleasant day yesterday.  It sounds wonderful.  Some YOU time, at last.

Hi, Bopper.  I haven't watched much of the Christmas programming.  I've poked now and then but nothing has tempted me.

It was rainy today and I didn't feel like going out.  I thought about doing a DVD....but I didn't.  Oh, well.

Re: Welcome to the July Exercise Thread

@JudyL Congrats on feeling okay. I know it well just don't overdo. Your vacation is next.

@bopper I am not Marta Stewart. My mother and sisters absolutely. My stick figures will never see an art museum exhibit but it makes me happy to play.

@nomless It's gotten better!

@Iluvlucy. Have a wonderful time and feel better!

One more day until I fly back. I've been a shopping fool stocking up on winter clothes. It's not cold enough long enough in Georgia so I always clean up. Ready for normal but happy to be back in the Midwest. I've missed it.

Hope everyone is having a great weekend.

Re: Welcome to the July Exercise Thread

Happy Monday everyone!  I'm trying to have a better attitude about going to work.  Smiley Surprised)  We'll see if it works.

I did a 40 minute workout this morning - 25 minutes of PiYo and 15 minutes of BodyGym.  So far so good!  Think this time I'm going to take it much slower with PiYo.  Going to do the first two workouts - lower body and upper body beginnger workouts - until I am able to do the workouts comfortably then I'll move on to the next one.  Think I may have tried to go too fast the last time.  I so enjoy it that I'm just not ready/willing to give up on it yet!  I'll mix in some TurboJam cardio with it also.  Love the TurboJam workouts.

It's a cool, foggy gray day by the Bay.  Supposed to be really hot this weekend.  Ugh, do not like the heat so going to enjoy the cool weather for now.

Laura - enjoy the last day of your vacation!

Lucy - Hope you are doing better today.

Waving to everyone else!

Re: Welcome to the July Exercise Thread

Judy, woohoo, about workout is done for today.  It sounds like you have a plan.  Slow and easy is a good way to start.  I haven't done TJ  recently but I remember that it's fun. Charlene is fun in all her workouts.

I took it slow and easy today, too.  I did a cardio workout.  I have little energy.  Don't know why.  I feel done in before I even start. I made it a longer session than usual to make up for going easier than usual.

Re: Welcome to the July Exercise Thread

Hey all, another Monday!   I did a good walk this morning before it got to warm, well it's humid out but it isn't hot.   Then I"ve been monkeying around here.  I painted an accent wall in my kitchen a Cranberry shade, not sure if need tweeking, I think a tad darker so hubby will tint it darker for me and I"ll do it over.  The rest is Benjamin Moore Fairway Oaks and I love that color.  This is BM Cranberry Cocktail it's called.

Laura vacation has come and gone, back to the real world soon.  Safe travels to you.

Judy woo hoo...you did great, nice and easy and BG too, that's great!

nomless when it's hot out I have no zip either.  Hard to get yourself out there.  I ordered 1 thing from Valerie but that was it.

Waving to everyone
