Re: Welcome to the July Exercise Check In

Bopper, yes, TGIF! Bet you had fun at the blueberry festival. What a treat!

I just bought raspberries....I thought they were on sale but I was wrong. They were more expensive than I thought, but, oh, well, I might as well appreciate them while I can. The raspberry season is short here.

Re: Welcome to the July Exercise Check In

Hi everyone- I don't have much to report. Been working a lot so no w/o time- and as we know, I don't make a major effort! But, leaving at 6am and returning at 9pm does not leave much time. The weather has been nice, I think, heat and muggy. A few thunderstorms, but not major ones. I have gotten a few Firm DVDs in but nothing major. Bopper- the festival sounds like fun. Patty- furniture shopping sounds like fun. Nomless-seems like you are doing good with TG after pulling it back out. Future- I'm glad your naps are still intact! Gotta work the w/e- so we know, no w/os!!! I hope everyone has a great weekend!

Re: Welcome to the July Exercise Check In

Happy Saturday!!

Went out to dinner last night on the beach at Catch 31, it was delicious! Ate too much but don't care...was totally worth it and it was all healthy anyway. Great fuel for building muscles.Wink

nomless, he's amazing!! Love watching him...could cut into my sleep though...lol.

Speaking of sleep, new studies are showing that people that sleep 7 hours are healthier than people that sleep 8+. I've always believed 8+ was too much for people, on the very few occasions that I've slept 8 hours, I feel terrible the entire day...very sluggish and out of it. They said people over-all had less disease, more energy, lived longer, etc., than people that sleep longer. I know...studies are studies, but I like this one...lol.{#emotions_dlg.sneaky}{#emotions_dlg.laugh}

Walked 4 miles this morning, only ran a little bit...trying to let the foot heal. Beautiful sunrise on the beach this morning.

Dh and I walked to the gym, I did abs, bi's, some kettle-bells, the bike(ugh), and the one Precor machine that I love...you can do stair-stepper or run in the air. Too sore or fatigued from rest of the week to hit anything else hard but I pushed it on the Russian Twists w/medicine ball and my bi's...hoping to feel those tomorrow.

I canx my furniture shopping, I must be the only person I know that hates furniture shopping. We might do some today but are heading to a big lighthouse that you can climb the stairs inside of it...only been there one other time.

Hi Tony!!! Waving to everyone!!

Have a great weekend!!!

Re: Welcome to the July Exercise Check In

What a great article, Patty. The author did an outstanding job. Kudos also to SI for running a feature about Crossfit. Looking forward to tonight's event. I, however, was a slug today. Very, tired, I kept falling asleep. No w/o today.

Re: Welcome to the July Exercise Check In

Was puzzled by Froning in the clean ladder sprint event. After he completed a lift, he slowly walked to the next. I wondered if that would cost him a place in the final and it did. Still, he picked up enough points to close the gap between him and the leader. There are a bunch of people who could end up on top.

Re: Welcome to the July Exercise Check In

Hi, all!! Lifted heavy and spin this am. Then I worked for 6 hours, went to a shower, relaxed for a little bit......then more work. This week is gonna be bonkers. Tomorrow I have more work, too. It's ok -- gotta do it!! Will probably do Pilates and stretch and hit the muscles I didn't get today (shoulders and some legs). Have a great Sunday, all!!

Re: Welcome to the July Exercise Check In

It's anyone's guess at this point nomless...got some younger newbies that are wik-ked(wouldn't let me spell it the right way) strong too. Did you see the weights for the heaviest female and male dead-lifts? Incredible.

Hi FUTURE. Where are ya bopper??

Went to a friend's bbq last night and furniture shopping yesterday...got that out of the way.{#emotions_dlg.rolleyes} Think I'm going with the Samsung washer/dryer set but can't completely decide.

Anyway, my bi's and core are sore today...obliques woke me up when I rolled over. I used the medicine ball for Russian Twists and the kettlebells for side bends and did swings with them and I guess it was different enough from what I've been doing to make me sore even though I rarely do the same exact exercises in any given work-out.

Rest day for me other than I walked Lucy this morning. Church then going out to lunch...groceries and laundry. Today will fly by. Hope the next 2 weeks do, need to get out of this room!!!!
