Re: Welcome to the December Exercise Thread

Gosh, Patty, I pray that things work out for DS.  How great that you'll be able to spend some time with him and DIL. Lucy will be so happy to see Daddy when he gets home.

I had a fight with state dept of labor today.  Being angry, I sent a letter to both the commissioner and governor.  It won't help my situation, but I hope it leads them to rethink some things.  Things are very broken.

Re: Welcome to the December Exercise Thread

Hi ,  It's more like a Fall day today...45 feels like summer here!  I walked 4 miles and did a dvd called Gym Intervals and used my Proform bike for the cardio part ,  then you would get off and do a weight thing for 1 minute, then get back on the bike.  It was good..It's so nice out I can't believe it.  Want to bottle it up!

Patty you know I pray for your family every night.  I sure hope DS will do alright!  Very happy you can go up during Christmas and spend some time.  Hubbies new job sounds like a busy one but hopefully not as stressful as the last one!   Any good shopping lately?

Nomless I hope your letter helps improve things there.  Sometimes you just "have" to do stuff like that to make your point.  I applaude you!

Waving to everyone!

Re: Welcome to the December Exercise Thread

Bopper, I want to be walking down the lane!  Enjoy your fine day.

More phone calls, and to my surprise, my issue with dept of labor did get solved. I'm so glad I finally got their attention and the attention of a very nice guy who was able to identify and fix the problem. As for the larger issues, who knows?  I suppose nothing will be done, but I tried.

OK...off to work!

Re: Welcome to the December Exercise Thread

Happy Sunday Funday!   It has been a beautiful day here, mid 40's and sunny.   We drove through town and no snow at all for Dec. 6th!  I'll take it.   I walked this morning with my neighbor and her dog and then hubby and I walked downtown and in the shops...We didn't get anything, just looking.

Nomless glad you got that resolved, it paid off you writting that letter.  Who knows, it may have really helped the larger issue too.  Time will tell.

Just watching football now, have a roast in my crockpot.

Enjoy your evening!

Re: Welcome to the December Exercise Thread

Hi, Bopper, you've had several nice days.  So glad you've gotten a break from ice and snow.  I'm sure you, DH and Logan have enjoyed your walks.

I've done nothing interesting this weekend.  Reading mostly, taking naps. I thought about working out....but I know thinking about it doesn't count.  I really need to get a new schedule in place, but there's still enoigh going on with searching for full-time work, callbacks, etc, that it's a bit hard to set aside time.  I'd like to go over to the workout room and do cardio, but employers have my home phone # and I don't want to miss calls.

BB has a new program done by the 21 Day Fix woman and a guy (maybe it's the giu who did Beast???  Can't remember.).  It has more strength training than is in 21DF.  I'm interested, but I don't want to spend the $$ right now.

I think I'll roast fennel for dinner tonight.  I haven't done that before.  I don't like fennel raw, but I do like it in scalloped potatoes, so I decided to try it by itself.

I hope everyone is having a nice Sunday.

Re: Welcome to the December Exercise Thread

Happy Monday!!  I'm tired...woke up with hives on my bum cheeks again...ugh!

nomless, I know that job-hunting can be a full-time job in itself!  I remember doing it every time we moved, and keeping track of everything for unemployment...you have to be on top of things.  You'll get back on track...for every time there is a season.  Not the entire book of your life, just a chapter...and sometimes even a paragraph even though it seems bigger.  I have to remind myself of that often.

bopper, I'm glad you have some nice weather.  We had a beautiful weekend but today it's raining again so I guess I'll do a SPIN class in the Petri Dish.

DH is flying out again this morning....I'm tired of the coming and going, packing and unpacking.  He was so worn-out Saturday morning(he caught the cold everyone got at the Thanksgiving dinner we were at, I'm the only one so far that didn't get it) but I made him go out with me, I think he needed it.  The sun was glistening off the water and so peaceful, cleared his head.  Afterwards we walked to Starbuck's and got him a hot tea for his throat and I tried an Eggnog Latte...it was pretty good, only drank half.

We have Blue Whales here right now!  Some people have some really neat photos of them.

Yesterday was busy...SS, church, lunch, then had to be back at 4:30 as DH had an Elder meeting and I had a Ladies Ministry Meeting, then evening service, followed by Potluck.  I only had a piece of cornbread so I don't know if that's what gave me the hives....afraid to eat anything that I don't know what the ingredients are anymore.

Well, there's a lull in the rain so guess I'll take Lucy for a quick one before I head to the gym.

Hope everyone had a nice weekend.

Re: Welcome to the December Exercise Thread

Happy Monday everyone,  It was frosty/foggy here this morning...really cool looking outside.

I did a cardio/strength workout incorporating my Proform Xbike using upper body for this program and then went outside and walked about 3.5 miles.  The other subdivision was all black ice so I had to practically crawl through it as I was so afraid of falling.  Our subdivision is bare.

I have a funeral to go to this afternoon, my BIL's mother passed away last Thursday so will spend a good portion of the afternoon there and then they are having a get together at a restaurant so we will also to there.   I so don't like going to funerals, but then who does right?  Just something we need to do.

Nomless I agree with Patty, it is so tiring looking for jobs and so time consuming and stressful.  You'll get back on track.  How were the fennel potato's.

Patty you had a busy Sunday!  Sorry to hear DH has a cold.  I hope it leaves him quickly and you don't get it.  Also hoping those hives go away...sure hard to know what causes them.   Blue Whales, how awesome!

Well I better shower and move on to the next thing...Have a great day everyone!

Re: Welcome to the December Exercise Thread

Bopper, I'm sorry you have a funeral today.  Hugs.  The fennel was good.  No potatoes this time, just roasted fennel seasoned with olive oil and a little parm cheese.

Patty, how nice you and DH had a quiet Saturday.  I hope he feels better very soon.  Sorry he's gone again.

I turned over a new leaf today.  I limited my time on job boards to 90 min.  I found one to inquire about, so I did and called it a day.  Then I went and did 30 min cardio, first workout after 30 days of slacking off.  Will try to make this my new schedule.  Part of t he problem I have is that I'm required to make 5 new job contacts each week, and it's hard to find that many in my field. Ugh, sick of it.

Now, will shower, have something to eat, then off to my part time job.  It's sunny and warm today, nice day.  I couldn't sleep last night....was awake most of the night.

Re: Welcome to the December Exercise Thread

I went over to the workout room to do some cardio.  A PT was just arriving to do a workout with another resident.  Interesting...she's hired a PT (or maybe he's a friend) to come here and lead her through a workout.  I was interested in watching to see what he had her do, but no way am I doing cardio in the presence of a PT.  I'm such a coward.  So I left.  It's a nice day, so maybe I'll go walk outside.

Re: Welcome to the December Exercise Thread

Yea for me...I did walk outside.  It's a harder walk than treadmill, so it was better for me in the end. The last block was uphill all the way, and quite a steep hill!  Now, lunch and work.
