Re: Welcome to the August Exercise Thread

@nomless  You made me laugh.  I have never tried mushrooms because I don't think I'd like them.  They smell nasty to me.  Which reminds me, I have brussel sprouts in the freezer from my New Years resolution to try something new.  Maybe when I get to be myself I'll try them.

I am so annoyed I pulled out my lunch and I accidentally packed my chicken cutlets that I made yesterday for dinner all week instead of my salad.  I had to run all the way home and just decided that was a good thing and took some medicine and ate my actual lunch like  a normal person for the first time ever.

Re: Welcome to the August Exercise Thread

Back to a quiet house.  Feels empty but we'll see them again in a couple of weeks for the wedding.  We had a really good time so I'll focus on that.

MickD...we did Pilates after kickboxing and the kids liked it...ds was too tall for it but he said he could see where it would be a good work-out. .  My dil coahces soccer and said it would be really good for soccer players(same with runners, tend to have tight hams) as they tend to have ACL issues because they don't train their hams and glutes enough...I showed her my favorite bridge exercise and she could really feel it in her hams and butt.  She said she was sore from her calves all the way up to her head yesterday, even her forearms.

nomless...do you mean you don't like potatoes at all or just the specific ones you made?  I can't imagine anyone not liking potatoes!  I love them...too much. Smiley Tongue

Laura....if the sheets are cold, they'll be right up my alley.  How are you feeling today?  I hope better.

Today I need to detox...lol.  Oh boy, did I fall off the wagon.  Hope I can get back on track.  I have Step class this morning..my shoulder is a little sore from swimming hte day we went to the pool so will try and not swing it around too much.  DH is flying out today for a short trip so Lucy won't be happy about that.  She was very happy to have her mommy-daddy to herself last night though...and her bed.

Re: Welcome to the August Exercise Thread

Feel much better today.  My headache went away after having it for a day and half.  It's still right there though so I'm taking it easy and trying not to aggravate it.  I don't normally go to the gym on Wednesday so I got to sleep in this morning too before work beckoned.

I made myself a huge plate of pasta last night with sauce and parmesan and fed my cold.  It was delicious!  Thumbs up to going off the diet every once in awhile and eating some comfort food.

Apart from being a little stiff and sore which I hope was from Power yesterday, I feel like I am on the mend.

Did manage to return the sheets to the post office yesterday during a break from work.  Very sad.  I know I'm not most people when it comes to sheets so I'm glad @Iluvlucy and the others got what they needed.  Hopefully, they'll be another TSV on the warm furry sheets I already have and I can pick up another set of those.

On the good side, I have just about wrapped up my Christmas and birthday shopping so I will be all about me during the holiday sales.  I haven't been this much of an overacheiver in a long time but I hit some excellent sales and had some points and coupons that made my thievery legal.  After all the expense of the car accident and travel, it feels good to be prepared and just grab a present and go eat cake for the next four months.  Smiley Happy

@MickD  I have never tried pilates even though I hear such wonderful things about it.  One day...

@nomless  Hope you found something better to eat.  Smiley Wink

@bopper  Miss your pictures!  Smiley Happy

@Iluvlucy, it was the roasted new potatoes I didn't like.  Last night I boiled some.  They were better, but I still don't like the texture of the skin.  Guess I'll stick to russets.  I love them any way they're cooked.

@Laura14, yay that you feel better today.  Yep, can't beat a bowl of pasta.  As I have said before,  simple carbs are my favorite food group, unfortunately.  Re: sheets: are you talking about those furry Berkshire sheets? I have them,  too, and I love them.  I stopped using my flannel and fleece sheets once I got those.  No pilling, no kidding!

About summer sheets: I'm loving the Isaac percale sheets. Best percale I've found. I just checked the reviews...many are bad with complaints that they are stiff and crisp. Yes! That's exactly what I love about them, lol.  I have other percale sheets that are in great condition but now I want to get rid of them because they are scratchy and replace them with Isaac's which are nice and smooth.  Can't really justify the expense though...a couple of the other sets haven't even been used yet. Sigh.

OMG my abs are killing me from Pilates yesterday.....good, great!  I ran on the treadmill 2.6 mi./34 min.  My goal is to run one day, then Pilates the next.  Then switch from Pilates to total gym....I haven't done that in a while...it is killlllller!!! Every time I do it I practically black out from exhaustion!!!!

@Iluvlucy - I got the Pilates about 13 years ago after I had dislodged a disc in my back from running.  Then used it when I got sciatica, then after I blew my foot.....maybe I shouldn't run, huh?  I'll run til I can't run no more!

i am thinking of getting the tsv.  My son, who is a HS swimmer needs to eat constantly, and I thought this would be great for chicken and steak, etc, for him....instead of him eating ramen noodles and cereal the other night at 9 or 10pm....bleckhhhhh.

Re: Welcome to the August Exercise Thread

Hi, Mick. Alternating Pilates and running is a great idea.

I did cardio today.  The recumbent is broken again.  Sigh. I wish they would replace it. I go nuts from boredom if I can't use several types of machines.

Re: Welcome to the August Exercise Thread

Did Ride and Power today.  I need to go up on my weight.  Too easy on several tracks so I am excited to go higher next week which will be my normal back in the day.

Lots of technical issues at work.  At least the phones are still down so no phone calls since Tuesday.  I may play a bit of hooky if it keeps up.  The time clock was also down this morning so they owe me 20 minutes.

Have a great Thursday!
