Re: Welcome to the August Exercise Thread

Yay! At Kohl's, I found new cardio shoes I like. They're low to the ground, lightweight, not bulky with good arch support. Plenty of toe room. Perfect! FYI, they're Adidas ClimaCool Crazy (style name). I tried on several....Nike, Reebok, Fila, can't think what else. They were all bulky and stiff. The Adidas feel comfy and flexible. Finally! A bit of a downside is they're almost-too-bright-pink, but that color was better than the really-too-bright-blue.

Re: Welcome to the August Exercise Thread

Hi, I thought I posted this morning but don't see it. I grocery shopped and came home and put it away and the started out on my walk in the neighborhood with Logan...well that was a fiasco...a lady walking 3 dogs on leashes, a golden and 2 smaller dogs approached us. All the dogs including mine started barking...I went over to the other side of the street to get apart from her..well she couldn't control her dogs and dropped a leash ( retractable) and the dog dragging the lead came at us and wrapped all around my ankles . Her leash was like a retractable wire and the wire was cutting into my ankles as the dog kept going around and around. The dog was dragging the handle around...then it wrapped around Logan so he had to literally sit in the street...she did nothing but yell at the dog because she was holding the other 2 on the side of the street...I was yelling my ankles hurt...she was yelling I'm sorry..it was a mess. I finally stepped on her leash and got out of the tangles mess but still had to untangle my poor boy who seemed panicked...It was not good and I ended up with a mark around my ankle and aside from that I got 2 big blisters on my feet from wearing my Sketchers with no socks. ( should have known better) Not a good morning..

I did go to the trail in the afternoon...now I know why I usually only go to the trail..Peace!

Nomless I LOVE the shoes..not too bright..they are awesome!!!

Pppmint just think almost out of that place and in your own again.sorry about your foot...your gf is totally into this! That's cool..

Have a good night everyone!

Re: Welcome to the August Exercise Thread

Bopper, what a scary experience. Poor you and poor Logan. I hope your ankles and bliwter feel better soon. It sounds like Logan was a good boy after things got out of control with the other dog. How nice you had a quiet walk later.

As much as I wanted to try out my new shoes, I stuck to my schedule and did TG today. I'm glad you like them, Bopper. Another plus is that the tongue is low. So many shoes have tongues that come up high on my ankle. I hate that. On these, the tongue is cut low where the ankle meets the foot. They're supposed to be cool, too, woth lots of airflow.

Thinking of you, Patty, and your busy days ahead.

Re: Welcome to the August Exercise Thread

Hi everyone! Today I did another trail but this time with my weighted backpack.

Bopper, I am so sorry that happened to you. I hope you don't cross paths with her again.

Get your flu shot...because I didn't.

Bopper what a horrible experience. I was living it with you as I read your post. I walk my dog and total understand how hard that must have been....and that situation could have turned out much worse. She should NOT be walking three dogs she can not control!

Re: Welcome to the August Exercise Thread

Morning all, did my KCM dvd using the Chapter menu so did bi's, tri's shoulders and lots of abs...used 12's on biceps, and triceps, a 15# KB for behind the head triceps, 8's on lateral raises 3 sets of 8 reps..the abs were really good and there was move I have never done nor heard of and I really liked it. Kind of start in full plank and then take 1 leg and start going into a pigeon ( like you'd do in yoga) but don't lay the lay down on the floor just bring it into that position and then back to plank and alternate...works the sides of waist where I need it.

Then took Logan again, thank you all for your kind words..today we didn't have an altercation but every loose dog in their yard comes out to the road and the owners either aren't even around or they stand in their driveways and holler to the dog..I say come and get your dog because it isn't listening..this is why I don't walk the neighborhood and go to the trail...

FUTURE glad you got so much done this morning, it's a good feeling..enjoy your dinner tonight.

Gazelle yes it wasn't a pleasant experience

HonnyBrown you do great on your runs on the trails and with a weighted backpack. Really cool!

Pppmint hope your moves goes good and Lucy and the cats cooperate with you...Lots of work for sure!

nomless I know you will be checking in later on....hope your work day is going good..Almost Friday!

Okay time to shower..

Re: Welcome to the August Exercise Thread

Future, it's unusual to hear from you in the morning. You started the day off with a great workout, I hope the rest of your day is going well. It sounds like it will be a long one. Hope you love your new 'do!

Hi, Bopper, you did good, too. I'm glad you and Logan had a better time of it today. I wonder if he's apprehensive about running into that lady and her dogs. I sounds like Logan didn't like that any more than you did.

No news here. It's a cool, rainy day...my kind of day! Will do cardio tonight.

Hey, Patty, thinking of you and the move and the crazy weekend ahead. Get through the move, and enjoy your visit family and friends! I hope you're able to get some sleep, too, and that Lucy and Kat are staying out of trouble. All the best to you and DH. I hope his shoulder is recovering well.

Re: Welcome to the August Exercise Thread

Morning, it's Friday for all you working ladies {#emotions_dlg.biggrin}

Just did my new dvd again using the Chapters, Legs and Glues and Back and Chest and then walked about 3 Miles...I'm adding in a mile before I even go haha..taking Logan after lunch! It's really getting warm out there and humid..I thought it wasn't supposed to be that warm but I passed another man walking and he said the same thing.

Nomless I didn't take Logan this morning, tired of all the commotion and did not want to run into that lady again. If I had though I was going to show her the cut marks on my lower leg from her leash...its red and some swollen.. I used neosporin on it though.

Pppmint I hope you are getting some settled this morning...waiting on the movers is hard...Is Lucy adjusting?

FUTURE Did you go to spin? Hope you a a nice weekend with some time to yourself!

Gazelle Hi and waving to you.

HonnyBrown are you hitting the trials...I notice the deer flies are bad in the wood, you need a hat.

Okay kids need to move on to the next thing..have a good day!

Re: Welcome to the August Exercise Thread

Hi, everyone, TGIF! I can't wait for 5 pm to get here and for me to get out of the office!

Good job with your workout and walking, Bopper. Have a nice afternoon with Logan.

I wish I had news of some kind for you, but I don't. It's been an unevenful day. I'll do some cardio when I get home, I think. I've been feeling under the weather, getting better now, but will make it an easy workout probably.

Patty, I hope the move went smoothly. Enjoy the weekend festivities with your family.

Hi to Future and Honny and Gazelle and Judy...are you back from S. Africa? and SF...still running, I presume? I hope the weather has been cooler for you.

I'll try to check in over the weekend. Have a fun one, everybody!
