Re: Welcome to The October Exercise Thread

Bike and cardio done. And single leg squats. I can't do them. I read a suggestion that you do them in front of a chair, as though you're going to sit down. I don't have a chair high enough to be helpful, but in the workout room, the weight structure has a station at which the seat can be adjusted quite high. So I did single leg squats there, had some success. It's a start. Will include them in my routine when I'm there alone....it looks too goofy to do in the presence of others!

Re: Welcome to The October Exercise Thread

Morning all! I've been up since 4:15....yay me. {#emotions_dlg.rolleyes}

I can't worry about it this girl's activity, she's going to give me a heart attack so I have to let it go and assume if she was going to get hurt, she would have done it by now! She started peeling in the living room last night, butt tucked and in the zone...ay...we stopped her but not before she had done a few laps...lol! Yesterday morning she sprinted up the stairs(and we have a large staircase) before we could do anything about it. Up and off and couch. I finally took her on a little walk yesterday because she wouldn't leave me alone and I knew what she wanted. So I'd carry her, set her down, carry her, and so on. Not far at all though...she just loves being outside. We stood on the dock, she loves to watch the geese swim by.

Nomless, may I suggest you do Bulgarian squats before you do the 1-legged....you really see the same results other than balance, and they're safer(or do both). We do the 1-legged with the TRX straps(but go all the way down) and normally the Bulgarian when we are doing weights. Dh's PT had him do over 100 Bulgarian squats the other day amongst other things and he was super sore. Just a suggestion...lol...I know we all have our own things.

I'm going for a run here in a bit, then dh and I will take the little one walking but carry her, and then I'm going for a bike ride by myself. Then I have to wash every piece of work-out clothing and uniforms dh has for his trip and will do bedsheets and grocery shop. He leaves tomorrow morning.

It says we're in the 40's this morning....I'm not feeling it, seems warmer to me. Stars are beautiful though, crystal clear, not a cloud in the sky. Supposed to be 70*, sunny, and NO WIND...finally! Yay!!

Have a great weekend!!!

Patty, I've never heard of Belgiqn squat. I googled it....yes I think you're right. It would be a good exercise for me. Thanks for the tip. I'm happy Lucy is feeling ok. That's great news.

Re: Welcome to The October Exercise Thread

The stability helps me. If you do CF, amongst some other classes, you're going to do the 1-legged squats so they're all good...and the 1-legged really hits your back end!Wink

Great run this morning...this one was better than Tuesdays which was my best since we moved here!{#emotions_dlg.thumbup} Beautiful out and I even ran in the soft sand for part of it. Forgot to say that one of dh's guys placed 2nd in a big run here....5 miles in 35-minutes...may not sound super fast, but in sand, with obstacles, it is. It's a tough course.

Saw the most beautiful woodpecker this morning...2 of them were together but the one had the reddest head I've ever seen. I took a picture right as that one flew away...but got the other one.

Waiting for dh.{#emotions_dlg.glare}

Re: Welcome to The October Exercise Thread

Morning, another sunny day here thank goodness! The next week is calling for rain again.

Yesterday I did the Bog walk with my sister and it's a trail with bridges and winds all around these bogs...it's supposed to be for birding but it was so windy we didn't see any but we did enjoy it and the big Lake was rolling!

Last night hubby and I went to the Spooktacular that was held outside. It was like a huge Halloween parade and then like a Circus with performers and weird creatures walking around. It would have been good if it hadn't been so cold and windy..we left halfway through as we were too cold.

Today hubby is going to camp and I am going to stay here and pile wood in the garage and do some baking

Nomless did you enjoy your lunch with your gf you hadn't seen in a long time?

Pppmint post that picture of the woodpecker,,did you see my video of mine?

FUTURE your pups are protective of their new stuff haha...hope your Sunday is fun and relaxing for you.

Funny watching my Detroit Lions playing NOW in London England....it's Breakfast Tailgate I guess!

Have a good day everyone!

Re: Welcome to The October Exercise Thread

Morning! Cardio done, another beautiful day here...water was like glass this morning. Riding my bike to gym for leg-day now.

Hope everyone had a great weekend, nomless, you deserve a rest but I hope you're feeling okay! No, bopper, I didn't see your video. We have tons of them here but this one in particular had the reddest noggin' I've ever seen...this base is part of a bird sanctuary so we see a lot of different ones.

Okay...time to rock-n-roll again!

Re: Welcome to The October Exercise Thread

Morning, we had thunder last night and lots of rain...at the moment it isn't raining and partly cloudy but I guess more is coming.

I did treadmill intervals this morning for about an hour.

Nomless great job on getting it done....taking a day off is alright too! Hope you had a good weekend!

Pppmint I'd love to see that picture of the woodpecker...aren't they cool! We have quite a few here as well. Cool to be in a bird sanctuary too! How is Lucy doing and DS? Did DH get off okay?

Have a good day everyone!

Re: Welcome to The October Exercise Thread

I've been crazy busy again today. It's all good, though....I'd rather be busy than not.

Patty, I think I'm tired only because sleeping during the night has been a problem ...again. For one thing, it's been too hot and I refuse to turn the AC back on when it's nearly November!

Hi, Bopper, at least you got rain and not snow, right?

I've been reading a thread about nail polish and seeing all the photos of pretty nails. I've never done polish, but I was inspired to give it a try. I fell in love with photo of matte navy polish, so I went to Ulta during my lunch hour and got a pretty navy polish and a matte topcoat. I did one hand.... LOL. My nails are short, and on me, it's doesn't look pretty, it looks silly. It looked better glossy than matte, but I think nails need to be longer to pull off the dark polish. Oh, well, now I know. Maybe I'll try a more traditional color....or not.
