@LizzieInSRQ  The amount of sleep @I am still oxox is getting each night sounds wonderful to me.  I would love to get 9 hours of sleep.  The only thing I see unusual is taking Valium and benedryl to go to sleep.  Perhaps 9 pm. is too early to go to bed.

@I am still oxox   9 pm to 3 a.m.is 6 hours. The hour it takes you to get back to sleep about 4 a.m. to 7 a.m is 3 hours.  You are getting 9 hours of sleep a night.  Doesn't matter if it is broken up by the potty break time to get back to sleep  9 hours is 9 hours.  I'd take it and be happy.  I would use the hour you are awake, justing resting in bed and thinking good thoughts til you fall back to sleep as you say you do.  Doesn't matter it it takes an hour.

I can sleep about 3 hours straight, then it is awake off and on the rest of the night.  Short periods of sleep, then awake again with back issues.  I get 4 to 5 hours total of sleep a night.

Be careful if you are still in pain pills, years ago I broke my foot and I would take a vicodin at night for the pain and realized the vicodin was waking me up and I couldn't sleep.

@Carmie  Because thats when I am tired different strokes for different folks thats what makes the world go round. Sorry if you can't understand. I am not self medicating by any means

I don't understand why an adult would go to bed and be sleeping by 9 pm, unless they had to get up at 5 am for work.

Try going to bed later when you are actually sleepy and be sure not to nod off during the day.

I go to bed when I am sleepy.  I am knocked out before my head hits the pillow.

If, for some reason, I go to bed early, I lay there for hours.

I try not to take drugs unless they are 100% necessary.  All these drugs cause liver and kidney problems.  It's not  good to self medicate.

If you're tired early, why is there a need for Valium and Benadryl together?  Those two meds together will cause you to get drowsy.

So, you're taking them knowing they will induce sleepiness so you can go to bed before 9.

Many posters have offered you some suggestions, but you responded in a rough way.

If you don't want suggestions from people who are trying to help, then you'll have to figure it out yourself.

I suggest reading up on the cons of Benadryl and being older.  My PCP advised me to take it sparingly.   Not even getting into the regular use of Valium 🫤

I am asleep by 9 most nights with the help of 4mg valium and a benadryl. I sleep well until my potty run around 2-3am after that it takes me over an hour to fall back to sleep and when I finally dall back asleep I can sleep to7 or so.I am married and my hubby has his own sleep issues. I am also recovering from a fractured wrist. any thoughts Thanks

I'm going to try the "Sleepy Girl Mocktail" to see if it helps me sleep.  I usually wake up with hip aches and pains and sometimes have to lay awake awhile after rolling over to fall back asleep.  Google it and read about it.

@Carmie  I have an immune issue that causes extreme fatigue which is the reason I am in bed so early.
