Watching the presentation for the Sit N Cycle, F 11417 would love to order this but the weight limit is only 300 pounds. My husband is 6 3 and weighs 330 lbs and would love to purchase this. But the weight limit is too low. As a matter of fact, most of the health fitness machines that are sold on QVC have low weight limits.
Many people are over that 300 lb weight limit, it would be a real blessing if the weight limit could be raised to 400 lbs if not more. People who are heavy really want to lose weight and purchase these machines but are severely limited due to this issue.
What's the point of selling exercise machines if the heaviest of people cannot purchase these?

I will only say this! Save your money. Someone the size of your husband should not be exercising on any type of machine that does not something to hang on to and support one's upper body. He may "carry his weight well", but if he is what I consider to be "older" it is not something I would suggest to anyone.
Look into recumbent exercise bikes as they are much easier on the body because you can support your upper body while using it. Most of them have handles on the sides of the seat and also handle bars on which to support your upper body, and of course a seat with you can lean on to support one's whole spinal column. I don't think it would be hard to find one that is rated over 300lb, but as you say, that seems to be the cut-off point for most "home exercise equipment".
If there are not any available you might have to look into "commercial rated" equipment for your husband. Either that or maybe he can work on losing weight to get under that 300lb limit. When my wife was at her highest weight I had to buy a different Ab Lounge as the one I used myself was only rated up to 250lb.
The point of QVC selling anything is to make money and my guess is they might have a very small market of people that are above a certain arbitrary weight limit for certain machines. I have many pieces of exercise equipment that are "commercial grade" and since the 1960's I have never weighed over 155lbs. I bought them because they hold up better to the hard use I subjected them to over the years.

He needs good quality equipment.
If he's homebound then I'd suggest buying one piece of equipment he'd actually use like a treadmill or stationary bike and invest in a piece that will support his weight and frame.
If he's mobile get to a good gym or Y. Many have quality equipment and a trainer who can help if this is his first attempt at getting fit.

We bought the ProForm Hybrid Trainer Elliptical and Recumbent Bike from HSN because we wanted both type machines but don't have room for both machines so this one that does both works for us. I just looked on HSN & it shows it has a 350 lb weight limit. We also have a bowflex & a treadmill. That's why we only have room for one more piece of equipment. LOL!!! At least we use them. I like the variety since I hate doing the same exercise every day. The Sit & Cycle would cost a lot more money if they made it more heavy duty. I would not buy it because it looks like it's made out of plastic & would not last long.
