This should be a fun week with lots of interesting games starting with the Bears at Green Bay on Thursday night. Can Green Bay start the season 0-2 after going 15-1 last year? I think Green Bay should bounce back, but the Bears aren't an easy team to beat. It should be a good game.
Then we have Kansas City at Buffalo. I was really surprised at how poorly Buffalo played last week. I thought with the additions they'd made in the offseason and playing a division rival that they'd be playing their best football. If that's their best football then it's going to be a long year in Buffalo. Kansas City gave up 40 points last week so maybe Buffalo can get their feet back under them this week. If I had to pick a team I'd give a slight edge to Buffalo.
New Orleans goes to Carolina. I'm not sure anyone would have had these two teams being 0-1 going into week two. Carolina lost to Tampa Bay and New Orleans lost to Washington last week, so both teams should be a bit humbled and looking for redemption. It'll be interesting to see which of the two gets it. I'll give the edge to New Orleans, but their defense had all kinds of trouble with RGII last week and this week they get Cam Newton. It's going to be interesting to see how they adjust. At least the Panthers defense isn't as good as the Redskins.
Cleveland goes to Cincinnati. I strongly suspect Cincinnati will be the winner this week. Brandon Weeden looked lost in the weeds last week. The Eagles all but handed that game to the Browns and they just couldn't do anything to win it. The Eagles pretty much won by default.
Minnesota goes to Indianapolis. A couple of dome teams playing each other here. I've got to give a little edge to the Vikings here, but I wouldn't be shocked to see this be pretty close.
Houston at Jacksonville. Houston should win this one.
Oakland at Miami. I've got to give the edge to Oakland.
Arizona at New England. This should be a pretty easy win for New England. I wouldn't be shocked to see the Cardinals keep it close for a while, but the Patriots are the better team.
Tampa Bay goes to the NY Giants. I'd love, love, love to see the Giants lose this game, but I don't think they will. Greg Schiano got a win week one, but I think it will be a short lived wining streak.
The Baltimore Ravens come to Philadelphia. Somehow the Eagles are the favorites in this game. This game will likely come down to mistakes. If the Eagles can avoid doing what they did last week (5 turnovers 12 penalties) then they should win, but I'm not sure you can just flip a switch and stop making that many mistakes. I'm picking the Eagles, but truthfully I'd be a bit surprised if we won. The Eagles defense will really have to be at the top of their game and Vick will have to get over whatever got into him last week.
Dallas goes to Seattle. On paper this should be an easy win for Dallas, but Seattle is one of those stadiums where it's easy to lose. I think Dallas will win, but they'll get a bit of a scare along the way. I don't think it will be an easy win. They were so geared up for last week's game against the Giants that there may be a letdown this week.
Washington goes to Saint Louis. This will be another chance to see if RGIII is for real or not. I've got to give a lot of credit to the Shanahans for incorporating plays RGIII was used to from Baylor into the Redskins offense to make him comfortable. Teams have now seen those plays though and will be adjusting. I don't think the Rams have the firepower to beat the Redskins this week though, so I've got to give the edge to the Redskins in this game.
The Jets travel to Pittsburgh. Now we get to see if the Jets are that good or if the Bills were just really bad last week. The Steeler defense should be a nice test for the Jets. I'm giving an edge to the Steelers.
Tennessee goes to San Diego. I'll give the edge to San Diego here.
Detroit goes to San Francisco. I'll give the edge to the 49er's.
And on Monday night we've got Denver playing at Atlanta. Peyton Manning on a Monday night? I'm going with the Broncos.
