I just posted in the TSV thread but for people who don't read that I'm starting a new post.....
For anyone reading, who owns a walking pad, is it adequate exercise for an already fit person?
I usually walk on a treadmill at an incline and worry that with no incline it won't really be very challenging.....
I like the small footprint allowing for it to be out in a place where I could easily jump on several times a day without it being in the way too much.

I have an inclining treadmill (older) and it's set at a 40 degree incline which gives me a tremendous daily workout. I'm 69yo, a former mountain climber and I like it very much. I don't think it's for the average person. The incline is too much. This is what 40 degrees looks like and I use it for 30 minutes every single day.

For 700 I'd find a sidewalk............

Everywhere I look on social media sales sites, I see people selling and wanting to get rid of them. That's where I'd buy one, if I wanted one.

Walking on a flat surface will give you cardio but not much in the way of strength/resistance training unless you carry weights. A weighted vest or belt are your best options while maintaining the center of gravity. Ankle weights might make you develop knee problems somewhere down the line so I would avoid ankle weights while walking.

Wow, @SilleeMee that is quite the incline! I bet you are in amazing shape to do that for 30 minutes straight!
When I do the treadmill at the gym I'll go in and out of a steep incline (10-12 highest setting, not sure what that is in actual degrees) and I find it to be an amazing workout, harder than running in my opinion.
@fthunt Yes, it is a steep price....I'm still researching it and will comparison shop, but I don't mind spending money on my health, etc.
Also, I do walk and workout most days. I just like the idea of having something on hand that I can jump on to get in those extra steps or for days when I don't feel like going out, etc....

@SilleeMee True, I guess it's strictly for getting in those steps and wearing a weighted vest during would be great, good idea.
I actually have a 12 lb weighted vest that I wear around during the day and when I walk my dog.
It doesn't sound like a lot of weight but I really feel it! Do you own one?
I recently bought some 1lb weighted wrist bands that I'll wear throughout the day or while doing chores. It sounds like nothing but you do really feel it the next day!

2nd hand good idea. This is the only social media I'm on.
I wonder why everyone is getting rid of them? Maybe a bad sign!

@GingerHead. I imagine the novelty wears off and they don't use them. They use up a lot of space even folded, if they fold, in a closet. They're in the way.

@Kachina624 I guess the same with a lot of home exercise equipment.
