Hello everybody!!

Its going to be a gorgeous day here in WA state. We are finally in the summer mode with a couple days this week in the 90's. This is big stuff for us as we haven't had much summer this year and I know many of you would kill for our weather---mostly grey and wet and cool. But we NEED this as the aforementioned grey, wet and cool are right around the corner and maybe even by next week.{#emotions_dlg.ohmy}

OK---I started my Taxol part of the AC chemo plan yesterday. I have 12 weeks of this and was dreading the unknown as I mostly do this days. I had a talk with my oncologist nurse, who is really a great person, no nonsense, to the point, and went over the good, the bad, and the ugly of it all. She gave me many pointers for prevention of the side effects and told me this part is usually pretty easy compared to the AC rounds. I heard this from many people since. I was dreading the allergic reactions to the taxol itself, but happily, I had none at all. Was given the benadryl and the steroid, zantac and the nausea drugs too. Was sleepy for about an hour but came home in such better shape. Was able to cook dinner and function semi normally (whatever that is). Slept better but not great from the steroid effects. And was up at my normal 5:30 am getting the fam off to work. I will reserve judgment and will not do the happy dance yet. Altho I know lots of people would pay good money to see a bald, 58 year old, one-breasted dame shake her groove thing.{#emotions_dlg.scared} Most of them are friends and NO they are not deviants, just with twisted senses of humor.

So let me know your thoughts on this taxol thing. If I have asked before, lets blame it on the swiss cheese brain that I have. Any tips you have and any tips I have to help other is good.

thanks---PAM
