WHAT DO YOU DO IN THE MIDDLE OF THE NIGHT?

I am not much of a sleeper. Three to four hours is about enough.

So I get up and first thing I do is go to my computer and see what has been happening.

Before I know it, an hour or more has passed.

I wonder what you do when you just cannot sleep to pass the time in the middle of the night?

Play games on phone or tablet. It keeps me up as I get obsessed. I play these games with levels & when I get to the 60s & 70s levels, it takes countless countless tries to complete the game.

I am a night owl.  Even as a kid I would read at night.  I still do...either a book or something on my iPad.  I sometimes watch TV at the same time.

I keep my mind busy.

I worked "graveyard" for YEARS.    My circadian rhythm is the exact opposite of most people.     I have no challenge "operating in the dark"...

Re: WHAT DO YOU DO IN THE MIDDLE OF THE NIGHT?

The middle of the night is my normal bedtime (around 3 a.m.)  I sleep about 5 hours then doze off and on til I feel like getting up.

I mess with my computer playing, reading articles, paying bills and do other paperwork.

I am a reader so I switch between the computer and reading.

I work on organizing clothes, jewelry, rearrange decor and other projects I may have started.

I watch the deer come to eat.  We have a stream that flows from our water feature and rabbits, raccoons, opossums, a cat come and drink from it.

All kinds of night animals to watch.  We have a silent alarm outside that lights up inside with a small sound that lets me know when an animal is in the yard.

It is about 1:30 a.m., so I am getting off the computer, go eat a cherry turnover and read my book "The Hieress" by Rachael Hawkins.  It's good.

It is nice to know that I'm not the only one that is a night owl or just can't go to bed early.  I do usually have a nice nap during the day and that is usually my best sleep. I just don't sleep well in the night.  I watch TV, sometimes the best movies are on late at night and on my iPad most of the time reading these forums or looking at home decor for seasonal decorations on Amazon.

I am very much the same way, @Flatbush . If I can get five solid hours I consider it a major accomplishment.  If/when I'm awake during the night, I'll get on the iPad, run through the usual sites, maybe do some jigsaw puzzles on an app, watch videos, turn on the tv.  Sometimes I'll get sleepy again and get a little more shuteye.

Watch the news, check my emails, read, knit, shower, pick my outfit for the day.

@Flatbush

I usually read.  This gets my mind set on something else so that I can relax.
