Re: WELCOME TO THE NOVEMBER EXERCISE THREAD

@kate2357 I do loom knitting which is super easy. Picked it up on YouTube. I make lap blankets and scarves and even a couple totes. It's very easy and a set of looms is very cheap. Easy to do while watching tv or listening to a broadcast. I am the least crafty person when it comes to this, but it's so easy, I love it.

Re: WELCOME TO THE NOVEMBER EXERCISE THREAD

Good morning, all.

Getting reading to go get gas and then the grocery store for a few things.  I like to go early.  Seriously thinking about getting me a bottle of wine...haven't had any in a while.  I really miss being in the Caine club I was in.  If I rejoin, I'll have to pay a higher price and I'm too stubborn to pay an increase just because I quit.

@kate2357, Jack's progress is amazing!

Have a great day, all.

Re: WELCOME TO THE NOVEMBER EXERCISE THREAD

@Mmsfoxxie You go girl! Get that wine on! Salut!

I haven't even thought about Thanksgiving and it's next week! I can't believe it! Now, I have to decide what to buy myself for Christmas with the Black Friday deals. Smiley LOL

I am seriously considering a Pixel 2 fitness watch. I might be upgrading my phone which is almost out of storage and I might do a YOLO spree and get myself a new phone and the watch to pair it with.

They kind of sold me with a check in feature where the watch checks on you every so often and, if you don't respond, it automatically contacts emergency services and the loved ones you tell it to.

Food for definite thought since I go hiking alone every weekend and, with the weather turning colder, I'll be more alone. I think it's a yes from me and would be a great present along with my handy dandy alarm, but we'll see. That's a lot of money.

And the reason I actually came. I worked out today! The crowd goes wild!!! Smiley LOL

I did a 30 minute bike ride and pedaled my little heart out. I am really enjoying my streaming fitness classes. I agree @Mmsfoxxie . When it's easy and convenient, you really do it every day.

Hope everyone is having a great Tuesday! Smiley Happy

Re: WELCOME TO THE NOVEMBER EXERCISE THREAD

Hello, well it's the eve of opening day of deer season here, so hubby is heading to camp to score the big one!   Actually I hope he does, our freezer could use some venison!

@Laura14 I agree finding something you like and it's not to hard makes it easier to get it done consistently.  I'm really over the hard core workouts, I don't want to feel so out of breath I want to throw up.   Really some people feel like throwing up and then say how great it was.  No thanks.  I'll be fat over that!

My gf left a little gift bag on my door knob with a bottle of wine and a bag of pretzels.  How thoughtful was that.   @everyone who wants wine!!  Haha!

Had my hair done today too, in 1 month I have so much gray regrowth, it was bad!!!  She always styles it so good and I always have a million cowlicks, and I'm not kidding.  I have like a H in the back of my head where the hair is growing in all different directions so it's a constant part down the back of my head and I hate it!

I'm rambling so will say good night!  I did rebounder today which included strength, and my therascoop lateral trainer.

Re: WELCOME TO THE NOVEMBER EXERCISE THREAD

It does seem weird Thanksgiving is next week. I am not feeling particularly festive this year. I will enjoy having every one over, but admit I am not looking forward to all the preparations. I feel socially lazy...and I don't think that's a good way to feel...so I need to kick my own tush.

I didn't have a running partner this morning, so I only went for a 5 mile run at a local park that has a lot of folks around. Not my favorite spot, but I do feel safe being by myself at that park.

@Laura14

I am going to look into loom knitting. Sounds interesting. Thanks for sharing.

Re: WELCOME TO THE NOVEMBER EXERCISE THREAD

@Laura14  - a friend taught me how to crochet - which I know is different than knitting - and whoa, boy howdy did my carpal tunnel act up big time.  Didn't do that for long.  May look at loom knitting to see how it's different.

Re: WELCOME TO THE NOVEMBER EXERCISE THREAD

@JudyL My grandmother crocheted. I have her blankets and she made a dress. I still haven't mastered the real thing with needles. Loom knitting is like the pot holders we used to make as kids and doesn't require that kind of dexterity or talent.

@kate2357 Here is a pic of my half done blanket. It's literally crisscrossing on the loom. I got 'advanced' and I am using two different yarns because Michaels only had one of the multicolored left. Usually, I use one and go back and forth. This you do one ball and then the other each way across.

I find it soothing and you get a nice blanket at the end.

Re: WELCOME TO THE NOVEMBER EXERCISE THREAD

@bopper  Growing up in upstate NY, opening day of deer season was a big deal.  My family didnt' hunt deer- but our little town was booming with hunters ...  If you like vension and it sounds like you do, hoping your  husband is successful.

It's my PT day. I skip the rec center on that day.  Pace myself!! HA!  Yesterday I hopped on a stationary bike at the rec and did a whole 5 min on a low reistance. Even that made my tendon scream- but I figure i have to start again and build my strength in that leg. You ladies inspire me. I love rreading how you run and hike etc.  I keep seeing myself pedaling along a path and I will again.. eventually! That is my goal.

I am not a craft person.. the loom crochet looks nice though

I ordered 2 alarms for friends who are there walking for Xmas. I may order more and give everyone one...

As you have said. Thanksgiving is fast approaching. This is the first year  I am not cooking or hosting. Finally have passed the torch.  Just making 3 sides which are easy. I may miss leftovers- but my body will thank me for not indulging for days on end.. HA! I would like the turkey carcass to make soup..

Our weather is still lovely...  No complaints.

   Enjoy the day everyone.

Re: WELCOME TO THE NOVEMBER EXERCISE THREAD

Got Power class out of the way this morning. Staff meeting moved to tomorrow so another hopefully quiet work day at home.

Have a great Wednesday all.
