Re: WELCOME TO THE NOVEMBER EXERCISE THREAD

Good evening all,

I liked the Step class so much yesterday I did it again. My legs are toast. I should go for a walk around the block, but it's dusk already and I'm not sure I can climb the hill. I will leave that to another day.

I also want to type that I really appreciate this group. I was posting in another group too over the past few months that was recently started by a vendor and they never showed up in it. I ended up being the only one who posted and basically took it over with my daily trials. A few people humored me, but it was very lonely. And then we got the inevitable troll.

I really enjoy the consistency and camraderie of this group. Thank you @bopper for starting it every month and everyone for contributing to it. It's nice to have a safe place with virtual friends who are trying to get through it with you.

Have a good night. See you tomorrow! ✌️

Re: WELCOME TO THE NOVEMBER EXERCISE THREAD

I agree with @Laura14 especially because I feel ok coming here even when I'm not exercising!

Today I did a 25 minute walk.  So far, so good.  Just got back so will see how everything feels in a hour or so.  Came home and made my first cocoa and marshmallows for the season!  Yes, marshmallows as in many mini ones in my cocoa.  Smiley Surprised)

@kate2357  - sorry to hear about the vertigo.  Been there and it's not fun.  Had it after my eye surgery a few years back.  Take care and be careful.

Take care all!

Re: WELCOME TO THE NOVEMBER EXERCISE THREAD

@kate2357  Thanks for kind words about my injury as I call it. It's not an easy quick fix. I hope i see improvment and will be out there  doing what I love by early Spring.. I know- it seems a lifetime away. Stay the course.. and try not to let myself  get down about it.

Your vertigo.. I have had just a couple of times and was told it was crystals in my ear(s)out of alighnment. I had to look this up but did this Epley maneuver.. it did work for me.. Hope you are ok soon.

@DrKelli  you are quite the dancer.. I can tell you love it.. I can envision you out on the dance floor!

Next week have an appt to get snow tires on our car.. Dare I say that ? We are traveling to WY for Thanksgiving and it may be fine.. or a storm could quickly come up.  Putting on the tires is almost as sad as it getting dark at 5pm! All signs winter is coming!

I agree.. This group is great.. supportive  and caring.

  Have a good weekend everyone..

Woke up feeling puny, but not dizzy. Hoping that means the blasted vertigo is over. I am going to take it easy today and hope to get back on track tomorrow.

Re: WELCOME TO THE NOVEMBER EXERCISE THREAD

@violet runner @kate2357 I hope you are both feeling better soon! HeartHeart

I have done nothing yet and I am not sure I will. Maybe do a centergy routine which is yoga and pilates later today after work. I usually do my three hour trek in the park on Saturday mornings, but we're supposed to get rainy so we'll see.

Have a fantastic Friday and a great weekend everyone!

Re: WELCOME TO THE NOVEMBER EXERCISE THREAD

Hey hey, another dreary rainy/snow day here.

Took today off of exercise.  I needed one.   Got groceries, took a ride to the Cemetary and then drove by the lake on the way home.

My hubby had vertigo for a long time and it was just awful.

When the heck are the new TV shows going to start, there is nothing on to watch at night.  I thought the writers strike was over!

Seems lots of sniffles going around too.

Have a good weekend everyone!

Re: WELCOME TO THE NOVEMBER EXERCISE THREAD

No walk for me today.  I'm sticking with my 2 days walking, 1 day rest, etc., for now because that seems to work best for me.

For me the holidays have begun - went to Trader Joe's this morning and their iced gingerbread men cookies are in the store!  Wahoo!!  That is always the start of the holiday season for me.

Thinking of you @kate2357 and @violet runner and hope you can enjoy the weekend.

Take care all!

Re: WELCOME TO THE NOVEMBER EXERCISE THREAD

Good morning, everybody!  Hope everyone is doing tolerably well.  That's my long gone grandmother's answer when she was asked how she was feeling...."tolerably well".

Yes, vertigo is awful!  I only had vertigo once (for about a week).  It's very similar to motion sickness, which I have often, even when I don't ride anything,  Real name.....nausea, actually.  Dramamine is my daily friend now.  I take half a pill every morning to make sure my day starts right. @violet runner, smells can cause vertigo if I'm not mistaken like exhaust fumes and fresh tar put on the roads.  My orthopedic doctor told me to do water aerobics when I first started having knee issues.  Got in that pool and started feeling nauseous immediately and after about 15 minutes, I had to get out of the pool, got to my purse and took a Dramamine but it was too late to help.  Went home and was nauseous for hours after that.

I don't come on daily anymore because I don't do as much exercising anymore.  Well, not real exercising like I used to.  I know it doesn't matter to the group how much I do or don't do but it bothers me. So when I don't post daily, it's a "me thing", not a "you thing", lol.

Well, have a great, safe weekend everyone.

Re: WELCOME TO THE NOVEMBER EXERCISE THREAD

@Mmsfoxxie It's always good to hear from you no matter what. You're missed when you disappear. 💜

@bopper The actors were on strike, but settled this week. My niece is an actor and rumor has it everyone is being called back after Thanksgiving and we should have new shows starting in January.

I went hiking in the rain today. Me and a few other brave souls braved the wet along with the ducks. But I didn't want to skip out on my routine.

Have a great Saturday everyone!

Re: WELCOME TO THE NOVEMBER EXERCISE THREAD

@Mmsfoxxie

It is nice to hear from you...learned something from you today I did not know about dramamine. I did not realize it didn't work after the fact...it's more of a preventative. Well dang. I ordered some dramamine patches to have in case I ever got dizzy again.

I do feel back to normal today and went for a 6 mile run with my oldest son. It was a bit drizzly, but we missed the worst of the rain.

Was thankful we did not lose power when so many others are still without power. I need to get out and start raking up the zillion leaves. The wind pretty much cleared all the leaves off and I need to start out front.
