Re: WELCOME TO THE NOVEMBER EXERCISE THREAD

@bopper

We both got the rsv shot because dh's pcp said it was important because of how many people we come into contact with on a weekly basis. No reaction except sore arm at injection spot.

We are all done with vaccines until next fall. Yay!

Re: WELCOME TO THE NOVEMBER EXERCISE THREAD

Happy Hump Day!

I actually broke out a step class today. And I did it!

I was so proud of myself. I kept up with 98% of it and I was strutting and striking poses and high fiving plants! It helped that this was a north south routine and my fun size, petite little body appreciated that.

Keep your workouts going because they really do add up at some point.

Hope everyone has a great day!

Re: WELCOME TO THE NOVEMBER EXERCISE THREAD

Good morning, all!

I'm super busy at work, so this will be a quick post.  Had my trainer workout this morning and it was kind of a tough one, but I got through it.  Dance lesson this afternoon.

I ordered some shelving from the A company for my garage.  I put off cleaning it all summer and now have to do it when it's not as warm.  I just want it more organized and I think being able to place boxes on shelves would help.  Plus, I need to get the lawn mower moved to a better spot so its place can be taken by the snow blower, which I pick up on Friday (Yay holiday).

Hope you all have a good day!

Re: WELCOME TO THE NOVEMBER EXERCISE THREAD

Happy Hump Day!

Today is very dark, with rain/snow mix.

I did rebounder with Earth and Owl, my Therascoop, weights on the bench, and the reformer.

Thank you @kate2357 for the RSV info.  I'll have to get mine.  It's a one shot thing right?

I'm cooking up pork chops now, will freeze what we don't eat for another meal.  At least they will be cooked already.

I really haven't much to say today either.  The dreary is getting to me though.

Keep our chins up and power on!

Re: WELCOME TO THE NOVEMBER EXERCISE THREAD

@bopper

Yes, rsv is just one shot. More fluid in shot than flu or covid. I don't do well in the dreary months either. Hope you can push thru the goomy days and have some sunnier days soon.

@DrKelli

I had to organize our garden shed by myself this fall and I was very happy when it was completed. I am thinking of buying a snow blower because I am not sure my back is up to shoveling the wet snow we typically get. I know zip about snow blowers, so will do some research.

Re exercise, today was rehab day for dh, so I only had time for 45 minutes on treadmill. I plan on getting out and doing more leaf raking. We have SO MANY trees and yikes it's a big job. Yesterday a stupid frog and a lizard had made a home under the leaves. I may have squeaked out a bad word or two when they slithered out of the pile.

Re: WELCOME TO THE NOVEMBER EXERCISE THREAD

Ladies- time for another update on me.. Brace yourself and try not to yawn! HA!

 I had my Sports Med appt on Monday.  Got a steroid shot in the hip joint - I actually didn't realize I was getting that until the doc explained to me I was.. and why.. ( for the arthirits in my hip).. The ultrasound with dye was done and bottom line- showed I have tendonosis. A degenerative  cartilage thing with my  fiborous tendons damaged from over use. Different from tendonitis and it will take a long time to mend which also explains why I have not improved. PT is best to help facilitate healing. Stretching, exercises etc.. Like I haven't been  doing them for months!! HA! I went to PT today and  showed her the doc note and now we can work on the specific area and not guess - She did give me 2 new exercises and will be stopping some others.

 No hip replacement  which is good.

 I worked hard to hike , bike, walk, go to the rec center and stay active at my age and now it turns out it's an overuse injury because of it.  I did ask PT if I could bike and I can - the movement of pedaling is fine, but if I had to jam my rt leg to stop in an emergency it wouldn't be good. In a couple of weeks I am going to tempt fate and try the stationery bike at the rec center..

  I am not a happy camper, but I am glad I finally  got a diagnosis- even though not a quick fix like we all want.

  Have been reading all your posts.. Our day is dreary too today.. but short lived - we should have brighter skies  in no time.

 Have rambled on enough.. signing off!

Re: WELCOME TO THE NOVEMBER EXERCISE THREAD

This afternoon I did a 23 minute walk.  Same distance as yesterday but guess I must have walked a little quicker today?

Beautiful sunny cool Fall day here.  Rain is expected next week though so will take advantage of being able to get outside while I can.

Take care everyone!

Re: WELCOME TO THE NOVEMBER EXERCISE THREAD

Hi everyone!

Man, I am stiff today!  I did put in 10 minutes on the aeroski though.  Had my furnace checked and cleaned today (and he was even an hour early for the appointment) and everything is good to go.

I learned a new trick last night at my dance lesson and it is pretty cool looking.  It's called a hip tuck I think.  Basically, I jump and rest my knees on  my partner's waist.  It was actually pretty easy to learn.  It's a 3 minute song, so we have a lot to learn.  It's a mashup--Rock and Roll Never Forgets, We are the People/Twist and Shout version and Daydream Believer by the Monkees.

Not much else--have a 3 day weekend, but have a bunch of errands to run, plus I am traveling for work next week.  Hopefully, I'll be able to post, but it is a busy trip!

@violet runner

I am so happy for you they determined what was causing so much pain. Now you can put together a plan to get better. Wishing you a speedy recovery so you can get out and do the activities you enjoy.

Re: WELCOME TO THE NOVEMBER EXERCISE THREAD

Woke up to a bad case of vertigo, so taking another day off. I don't get vertigo very often and this bout has already lasted longer than past episodes. What a pita.
