Re: WELCOME TO THE MAY EXERCISE THREAD

@JudyL Yay!! I may have had two PB protein bars jump in my cart last night. Have NO idea how that happened or how I backtracked a few aisles to let that happen before checkout. 😂

So good to feel better! I hope you get cleared soon.

And don't be a Scooby snack! I would be shocked if they let lay people interact with the animals of that kind, but good for you if they do. I went to LSU and we have Mike the Tiger who lives better than all of us ever will. They are beautiful animals to watch. I would never give him dinner in case I looked like a snack, but it is cool to be up close and personal.

@Laura14  - I'm sure they won't let me get anywhere near the big cats but if I can help with prepping their food or whatever else needs to be done, I would be happy.  When I was in Africa, we would be sitting in the jeep and 6 to 10 feet away would be a large male lion or female and they didn't seem to mind us at all.  I was so thrilled to be so close.

@JeanLouiseFinch I am throwing this out there, but I have a wedge pillow and I have used that to elevate my legs this past week and I think that has helped me too.

I have been doing the RICE therapy sans the ice. I don't like to be cold, but I do a hot bath every night so I guess I am doing RHCE therapy with Vionic shoes, inserts, and pads.

If you have something to elevate your feet at night, it's definitely worth a try. I am not perfect by any means, but definitely better a week later.

Thanks, @Laura14

Re: WELCOME TO THE MAY EXERCISE THREAD

Happy Sunday!   Sunny day here and it felt so good!!  Hubby continued with the raking and I worked out in my basement, vibration plate, and spinning, and rebounding.   Then some inside stuff.

@Mmsfoxxie  thank you!  Have a long way to go but at least it isn't going in the other direction.

I thought about buying some flowers but it's to early here and also I think of how much money is spent with them and it makes me cringe, like do I really need this!

Not much else going on today.  Sure am hoping for a nice week here!

 @kate2357  Its hard to get projects done here in CO too.  You went with your gut and will stop the projects. Good plan. Home Depot sounded sounded very unorganized.

 Love the idea of new running shoes..  You and I have discussed before. What are your thinking? Any brand?  Nothing like a new pair to brighten our spirits! HOKAs on my radar, but have made no moves to buy.

  @bopper   Congrats on the weight loss.. IF seems to agree with you.

   It's Cinco de Mayo today- celebrated here in CO.. I am going to make tacos for dinner.

    Going to take my binocs this morning and get a walk in plus checking out the heron nests I discovered last week. Then meeting a friend for coffee. Also picking up  mulch and soil to fill in an area in front of my townhouse.

  @Laura14  I bought a new  tracker, but it's on it's way back.. I need to invest in a better one. The one I sent back didnt' check off many of the boxes in one I was looking for. You did well with your walking/ hiking/ even with foot issues.. You are a woman with determintation.  Not overdoing doesn't seem to be in our DNA!

 Have a great Sunday everyone. May we all be on a healing path, whatever that means to each of us.

Thank you, I am being very strict with myslef, it is a challenge!

Re: WELCOME TO THE MAY EXERCISE THREAD

@Laura14

Too funny you mentioned all the gear you put on, because that's now how I get prepared for jogging/running. It dawned on me to put on the Incrediwear shoulder braces when I run. So in addition to 2 arch supports, 2 knee braces, one ankle brace, I have now added 2 shoulder braces. Oh, in addition to all of the above, my leggings are from Incrediwear and Tommy Copper, which support my legs, hips and lower back. Lol....I look like a skinny Bay City Bomber...but it all helps me move without pain.

Last night was tough for dh, so both of us were up from around 1 am to around 3 am. I actually fell back asleep and my youngest son came in to check on me and wake me up at 7 am. I slept thru their workouts with dh and the breakfast they made. I have felt behind all day. I only managed to get a 3 mile run in. Hardly worth getting all that gear put on.

@JudyL

Now that is an interesting volunteer opportunity. It sounds like a great way to spend time. Get to meet new people and learn more about the animals you have been drawn to for years.

I don't have any shoes in mind yet...I don't really need new shoes. But I am giving myself permission to start looking. I am waiting to see if I can actually run without messing up my shoulders or any other  body part.

Re: WELCOME TO THE MAY EXERCISE THREAD

@JudyL  What a great idea to volunteer at a zoo. Its so obvious from your postings your love for Africa.  Keep us posted on that !

 @kate2357 - I haven't pulled the trigger on shoes either. I don't really need them if I rotate what I have.. But new shoes are one things I do love to buy!

  High winds here.. it looks like a lovely day outside, but ya can't be out in it. I may brave it anyway and get a short walk in. You'd think after 40 plus years living in CO, I wouldn't mind the wind..It's a 4 letter word - right up there with snow!!( which I can do without anymore).

   I have a hair appt this afternoon. It's the start of my many appts this week. Glad the first one isn't medical. The rest are. Most are early morning so not too disruptive- just to be endured!! HA!

 Have a good Monday!
