Happy weekend,
I decided to attempt it and between foot pads, compression stockings, and my booties, I did my two and a half hour hike. I did pretty well, but I am still a little short of my minutes goal so I might be back tomorrow or I may scare something up here.
Have a great day, all.

Hey everyone, I didn't get over here yesterday but I did workout, pilates and Yoga and a 20 minute spin. Today was rebounding for 15 minutes, reformer for 30 and spin for 20. Now baseball and chillin. Hubby raked this morning but lots more to do. Finally it's 60 outside and I mean Finally!
I understand Mothers day totally and Fathers day is our demise. With how dad passed... Ugh still haunts me!
I want to get flowers but can't plant in the ground yet, our nights can get in the 30's. Does anyone have a hibicus plant in a pot? I'd love to get one but am afraid my deck will get to hot as its facing South.
Is anyone watching the Derby? I am! Every year we watch it. Praying no deaths this time around.
I'm down almost 5 pounds, not cheering yet, my jeans still have spill over!
Not much happening this weekend here, but that's okay!
Birthday week next week woo hoo!

5 pounds down....good for you! Slow and steady, you got this.
It's been an ugly and wet day. The boys were here this am,' so we did 30 minutes each on 3 different machines and then finished with planks. My backside was officially kicked.
Had a frustrating day at Home Depot. I am still annoyed. I had 2 project bids returned to me, with bid prices good until 5/7. Went in to discuss projects, but my person had called in sick. Some random person was helping and when she opened the projects both prices had gone up by a lot. One was over $1000 higher the other was $2500 higher. No supervisor available, yadda yadda.
Cutting to the chase, I am not going ahead with either project. It's been a hassle from the beginning and I think the project goddess is telling me....MOVE ON. I am going to
spend that money on new outdoor furniture for our new outside area....and I will not be buying from Home Depot.
I also think i deserve new running shoes. ![]()

@kate2357 - WHOA! That was a huge increase on both projects. Home Depot just lost a customer and some money. I think you deserve new running shoes too. You and DH an family will probably like the outdoor furniture more anyway. LOL

Congratulations @bopper ! I found IF works well.
@Mmsfoxxie I am so happy you are getting back to your fitness center. I find it was the best thing for me to stick with it too.
I did a Core class last night and did a walk around the block after the hike. I am only a few minutes away now from my minutes for the week so I am looking to make that happen today. Might do a cycle class or more walking. We'll see.
Woke up at 4:30am to a major thunderstorm. I usually don't hear it because of my basement apartment, but this one was nasty so I'm up!
Also went food shopping last night and got an ankle brace, which is working well too. Apparently, I need to pad up like the Pros now to get my exercise on. 😂
I am waiting for the sun to come up and then I am going to do a quick trip to Walmart. Grab some compression socks which I think have also helped me tremendously and do some shopping. I can always find a little something I need.
I should also do my meal prepping, but we'll see. Made some muffins ths morning and treated myself to real eggs. I needed a Sunday breakfast.
Hope everyone continues to enjoy their weekend. 👋

@kate2357 Its hard to get projects done here in CO too. You went with your gut and will stop the projects. Good plan. Home Depot sounded sounded very unorganized.
Love the idea of new running shoes.. You and I have discussed before. What are your thinking? Any brand? Nothing like a new pair to brighten our spirits! HOKAs on my radar, but have made no moves to buy.
@bopper Congrats on the weight loss.. IF seems to agree with you.
It's Cinco de Mayo today- celebrated here in CO.. I am going to make tacos for dinner.
Going to take my binocs this morning and get a walk in plus checking out the heron nests I discovered last week. Then meeting a friend for coffee. Also picking up mulch and soil to fill in an area in front of my townhouse.
@Laura14 I bought a new tracker, but it's on it's way back.. I need to invest in a better one. The one I sent back didnt' check off many of the boxes in one I was looking for. You did well with your walking/ hiking/ even with foot issues.. You are a woman with determintation. Not overdoing doesn't seem to be in our DNA!
Have a great Sunday everyone. May we all be on a healing path, whatever that means to each of us.

@violet runner I hope you find one you like.
A walk around the block and a 25 minute bike ride and I met my weekly minutes. I also did some damage at Walmart and bought lots of compression socks, my new friends. I also found some more clearance jackets and GF flour for my bread baking. I think I am set for a while.
I'm not sure if I shared this, but after a hike a couple weeks ago, I forgot to turn off the tracker. I realized it halfway home and clicked the hike off. When I looked at my stats, it tracked me riding down the road and measured me as the fastest you can go even though I was riding in a car. 😂 If only fitness was that easy!

Good morning friends. My foot is feeling a little better. I'm suprised that I am so anxious abiut getting back to my daily walks. Thats so unlike me and now all I think about is my progress backsliding. The night splits haven't been great, I'm sending them back. The other night, DH helped me get them on and they were so tight I had to take them off during the night. I just can't find the right fit and the right tension to make them work. I ordered some highly rated insoles to try - they arrived last night. I removed the insoles from my shoes and replaced them this morning. My foot feels quite secure and the arch area is molded and higher on the new ones, plus there is more cushion under the heel. I'm going to test them today under my usual routine around the house and such, but I think I may be on to something. 🤞

Good morning! You all are are giving me inspiration to get moving - once the Dr says its ok.
This morning I went to the grocery store hungry. Big mistake. Somehow a couple of donuts ended up in my cart. Haven't had donuts in must be close to a year. Now I'm set and don't need them again for a long time.
I also did 3 round trips up and down my stairs carrying grocery bags. By the last trip up the stairs, my foot was starting to be unhappy. BUT THE GOOD NEWS is that I can curl my toe without pain and can stretch it back a little bit farther than before without pain! Wahooo!!! Oh Dr Abadi will be so pleased on Tuesday.
Ya'll know my love for Africa and big cats. Well once my foot gets better I'm thinking of starting the process for volunteering at the Oakland Zoo. I would request to work in animal care with the hope at some point helping with the big cats - food prep, etc., not actually working with the cats. But if I could get close to them..... It's still a thought as it's quite a process to go through to get approved for volunteering at the zoo. I understand why as the legal person in me sees all the liabilities that workng in animal care could bring. Am giong to give it some serious thought though.
The rain has stopped and it's a beautiful, sunny, cool, Bay Area day. Have laundry to do and some chores. May try and walk to the end of the block and back a little later.
Hope everyone is enjoying their day!

@JeanLouiseFinch I am throwing this out there, but I have a wedge pillow and I have used that to elevate my legs this past week and I think that has helped me too.
I have been doing the RICE therapy sans the ice. I don't like to be cold, but I do a hot bath every night so I guess I am doing RHCE therapy with Vionic shoes, inserts, and pads.
If you have something to elevate your feet at night, it's definitely worth a try. I am not perfect by any means, but definitely better a week later.
