Re: WELCOME TO THE MARCH EXERCISE THREAD

@Laura14  Long time lurker/reader. Double check  the cardiac score CT cost. It would have been costly if I went through my insurance.  When my Dr insisted 2ish years ago that I have one done due to high triglyercides, I found an interesting post it note on my paperwork and Dr.'s order for a cardiac score CT. The note said check Groupon, Outpatient Imaging it's often $70ish and often there is Groupon coupon bringing the cost to $50ish. If I remember correctly you live in GA like I do. If you live anywhere near the city you'll understand what I am talking about. Outpatient Imaging is on Pechtree Rd about 9 miles south of Lennox. I live 10 miles outside the perimeter so I was not thrilled about the drive in but worth the cost saving to me. Let me know if you have any questions.

Re: WELCOME TO THE MARCH EXERCISE THREAD

@inGeorgia Thank you so much!! I scheduled one yesterday through MyChart, but they did say I would get a phone call beforehand to go over cost. It was explicit in the schedule app and my doctor told me this was no insurance, only self pay. I will absolutely check that out. Thank you so much for sharing! 🙏❤️

Re: WELCOME TO THE MARCH EXERCISE THREAD

Happy Tuesday!

I lost my mind and decided to do step class. I only did the thirty minute version which was more than enough after a ride class yesterday. Got through it and then did the new yoga routine for upper back and chest.

Will do my walk around the block later today. I am glad I have gotten myself back out there. I think we might be rainy today so it will be with a rain coat. I decided I am taking an easy work day and not taking myself to the office. I'll pick that up tomorrow.

I think I am going to sign up to donate blood. My ferretin test came back this morning and I am on the low end of normal which was good to see. I've been stingy with my iron supplement since I don't want to get too much. I am glad to see that I am pretty good with it although I may add in a day or two.

We'll see what the doctor says and if her good personality is still intact. I read my after visit notes and she was actually fair with me this time. A couple things I never said including never taking statins. Never said that.

You would think she is offering me a monthly aspirin and not a powerful medication with serious known side effects for a borderline test result. But, she also noted I had no excess abdominal fat which I appreciated since she had to be high with a side of Doritos to not catch that I absolutely do. But I will take it!

Hope everyone has a great day and healing well! 🙏❤️

Re: WELCOME TO THE MARCH EXERCISE THREAD

Happy Tuesday!   The sun is out but it's cold 32 right now and it's windy.   I have a hair appt this afternoon.   I'm taking today off.  Yesterday I started back up and last night my gum was throbbing.   I'll call the dentist by Wednesday if it's still hurting.  My hole is filling in nicely so it looks okay just the tenderness at the gum site.

@Laura14 you have no abdominal fat, well lucky you!   That's all I have it seems and it goes nowhere!   And now since I have been hurting I feel like I am not on my A game as far as healthy eating.  Nothing terrible but not thinking about to much that goes in my mouth either.   j

Wishing everyone a good day!

@bopper No, the doctor said she didn't see any. They may need to check the pharmacy because I think she's into the hallucinagenics. I absolutely do.

Re: WELCOME TO THE MARCH EXERCISE THREAD

Good Morning, fitness peeps!

I did an hour of power and got honest with the weights. I will feel this later today and tomorrow. I need to go back to bed, but work calls. Hope to be back home by noon.

I also did yoga flow for another 22 minutes. I am now tired and zen. Probably go for a walk later today and then early to bed tonight.

Hope everyone is having a good week.

Re: WELCOME TO THE MARCH EXERCISE THREAD

Good morning, all.  We have beautiful spring weather....other than a thunderstorm the night before last.

I haven't been doing much.  I decided to follow the endocrinologist's order of doubling my Metformin after a month of taking just one and again....it didn't agree with me.  Back to only one daily and when I see her in April I'm telling her I'm done with that stuff.  I expect to have a normal A1C anyway.  I've been anti lifetime medicine for years except for my glaucoma drops since going blind is not cute.  My mom (about 75%) and aunt (100%) were blind by the time they died.  But I can't see taking a med that makes be feel almost non-functional.

@Laura14, how dare you have no belly fat....off to Siberia you go, lol.  Seriously, that's wonderful.  Belly fat is the number one sign of other health issues.  And @violet runner, I see no signs of complaining from you about your hip surgery!  I'd have posts everyday of my complaining of what hurts, lol.  I didn't even see a play by play of events.  Guess you're a good patient.  Glad you're doing well.

Volunteering today so that's built in exercise for me.  Enjoy your day everyone.

Re: WELCOME TO THE MARCH EXERCISE THREAD

@Mmsfoxxie  Coming on just for you!! HA! Complaints about my hip - let me count the ways!! it's been a week.. and  as my vanity sets in- I  continue to have a pity party because I am not where I think I should be,  I try to celebrate the small victories. This morning I decided it's time to do some things on my own  around the house I have ditched the walker ( at least inside). The instructions the doc gave me said 1- 2 weeks..  I can't stand it. HA!   I am using my cane.   Still not  sleeping in my bed , but plan to soon.. Everything is more accessable downstiairs. I am going up and down stairs - still one at a time by myself.  The bruising is fading and the bandage stays on 1 more week and than I can peek at my battle scar. new exercises added today.

I  honeslty thought I would doing all this by day 3. I have to remember how " disabled " I was for months prior and I am 70 years young.  I envision myself moving faster than I am and going longer distance. Today @Laura14  I am going to have my DH drive me to a nature area and do my walk there. I haven't been in a car for a week.

Overall, I am think I  avg.. and avg.  doesn't cut it in my world. But I am trying to give myself grace.

I am reading all the entries. @bopper  hope your jaw/mouth/ tooth area is healing- did you visit the dentist- or call him.. ?

And everyone else.. Keep up the health fight.. It's worth it.... even with setbacks!

 have a good hump day!
