Re: WELCOME TO THE MARCH EXERCISE THREAD

Hi group!
@Mmfoxie, so sorry to hear this is happening. So scary but sad this girl needs serious prof help-

On the topic of fitness, it's nice to hear others devoted to staying in shape and all the amazing benefits!
I was using the Leslie Sansone app "Walk at home", for the last 3 months but I got very bored so I just got a  Denise Austin.com subscription to mix it up. I like her and she has tons of variation, but I need to do it slower or modify a bit... But she has tons of workouts and a mix of types ( Pilates, yoga, cardio)- And it's reasonably priced for an annual subscription. Keep it moving everyone!!

Re: WELCOME TO THE MARCH EXERCISE THREAD

Hope this finds everyone well..

One thing I forgot to mention was my retina specialist said it was imperative I eat dk. leafy greens daily and fish once a week.. I  have been exploring options with the greens- I have tried 2 green juices- one by Suja and one ny Evolution. Brutal. I can't do it.  HA!

So I have opted to  pick up  greens already cut up and have as a base topped cottage cheese or other for lunch..  and Whole Foods  has premade greens at a salad bar.

Ya know, not a fan of any of it..but will comply for now. My vision is important.  I have a vitamix but pretty sure I would make a smoothie with too much sugar..  so not going to do that. Any suggestions are welcome.  I do think once good weather comes around and I can buy fresh produce from a farmstand, I might find it more appealing.

Otherwise the lasered eye is ok and now on to the cataract surgery  on the 16th. Geez!! HA! Oh and lets not forget a BP evaluation with my reg. doc this week too.

Have biked , walked and light duty at the rec center.  That will be me for the rest of the month I think.  I do want to get in a  hike too if possible.

Back to colder weather.. spitting snow.. so far not getting much and it can stay that way.

  Have a good Sunday!

Re: WELCOME TO THE MARCH EXERCISE THREAD

Happy Sunday!

Well the ice storm came and it's very pretty out but  it is very dicey walking.   We haven't gone anywhere.  I threw out salt on the sidewalk though.

Rest day for me so tomorrow I can start Kaleight Cohen Fitness new Spinning workout.

I sure hope you all get some breaks in the stuff going on.  I'm still blowing my nose, worse at night and coughing.

I like Denise Austin I think she's very good and cute!

Stay well everyone and keep moving.

Re: WELCOME TO THE MARCH EXERCISE THREAD

@violet runner I just bought two big bags of kale to make some smoothies in my Vitamix. I use bananas as the 'sweetener' but you can also use berries. You can use fresh or frozen. I find the low sugar fruits work for me. I don't like green juices either but a milkshake works for me.

I use almond milk, handful of kale, unsweetened cocoa if I want it chocolate and a frozen banana. I also take eye vitamins.

I add my green vegetables to most of what I eat. I have cornered the local market on broccoli. I add it to my pasta, rice, eggs, salads, etc. I buy primarily frozen and season it myself but they do have preseasoned vegetable meals that you literally just microwave and eat or add to rice, pasta, etc. Maybe you'll find something you like.

Salads you can dress up with almost anything you like to get the leafy greens in. I just made chef side salads minus the meat.

I hate fish so I can't help you there. Tuna every once in a while on salad is the most I'll do.

I hope you get the surgery behind you quickly so you can get back to all your activities. We'll be thinking of you. Heart

Re: WELCOME TO THE MARCH EXERCISE THREAD

Hey everybody!   Just read a few of the posts and I'm sorry for y'all that are going through issues.

Well, on March 1st, I had my first day in weeks without my frenemy Haagen Daz, lol.  (I'm almost weaned, I think).  And Saturday, I attempted to attend my exercise class at my fitness center.  Signed into the class but, imo, there were too many people in it.  So I went upstairs to the track and walked.

It's a crappy morning, wet and 🥶 icy, so I probably won't go out but I'll do Leslie Sansone today.  Be safe everyone.

Any of you doing Wordle, the word game?  I've been doing it for a couple of months now.  Enjoyable.  Easy but a good morning challenge.

Re: WELCOME TO THE MARCH EXERCISE THREAD

@Laura14  thanks for  telling me what you do for getting the greens incorporated into your diet.  I used to make green smoothies and may visit it again.. I burnt myself out on it and probably more lazy about it more than anything.  I too take eye supplements..

It's a matter of making it a habit and finding an applealing way of doing it.

Been to the rec center this morning and I think tomorrow I'll start using 5 pound weights..  mostly just keeping moving this month  and hopefully put all eye issues behind me.

We're cold, but sun and very little snow came our way..  Hope for all of a Spring thaw!

 Stay well , my friends.

@Mmsfoxxie  You crack me up with Haagen Daz Smiley Very Happy Glad you are back to it. I see wordle every day on Twitter. I have zero idea how to play it but everyone appears to love it.

@violet runner I am not a huge fan of smoothies either. I don't like to drink my calories but every once in a great while I'll make an effort to get some greens in that way.

Re: WELCOME TO THE MARCH EXERCISE THREAD

Hi everyone!

We had a cold weekend here.  Got several inches of snow, but it has melted for the most part.  Not without some shoveling though.

I went to PF this morning and did 30 minutes on the elliptical.  My foot was hurting again, so I didn't want to aggravate it.

I didn't sleep well last night, so tonight will be an early to bed one.  Unfortunately I have to go into the office tomorrow for the regular office day.  Glad I didn't have to drive downtown this morning because there were a number of accidents on my route.

I had a lesson with  my potential 'amateur' partner last week. I've known him for over a year and we always dance at the parties at the studio, but I don't know that he is the right amateur partner for me.  He literally sucked all the fun out of dancing during that one hour, including a lecture on how HE is the leader and there can only be one leader.  I didn't think I was leading, but i was counting for him because he has no inate musicality.  I'll have a discussion with my pro partner (who was coaching us) on Wednesday.  My mom said I had to do one more lesson before I made up my mind. LOL.

Hope you all had a good Monday!
