Re: WELCOME TO THE JUNE EXERCISE THREAD

Hi, all.  After several hot, slightly humid days, this one is a winner.

@bopper, I didn't realize you were babysitting already....you mentioned Canada.  I've been hearing a lot about bugs taking over.  I'm not out much but I haven't noticed that....hope they don't come because if they're like regular mosquitoes, they will love me.  We used to go to Jamaica almost yearly and I'd always come back with itchy bumps.

@kate2357, Ok, Medicare Advantage...that's why I thought you didn't have Medicare yet.  I'm not too familiar with that one.  Those people call all the time trying to get me to change.  Even though my supplemental premium goes up every year in August as my birthday gifts, lol.  I get mad at that time and consider changing to Advantage but I know that if I switch and don't like it, I'm stuck....so I've heard.  United Healthcare is the largest one.  I've heard that they're fine until a big health expense comes up.  Well, hang in there, girl.  You're blessed to have other family members to pitch in to give you a break.

Re: WELCOME TO THE JUNE EXERCISE THREAD

@kate2357 I am so sorry I haven't posted again before now. I think of you and your family every day and please know that I am sending good thoughts and prayers your way.

I just dealt with UH which is who I have through my employer. If it helps, I only contacted them through the website and the chatters are nice and for the most part knowledgeable. Only had one dud. They seem to work all hours if you need a quick answer for something. Glad you advocated with success. You are a hero for us and most importantly your husband. 🙏

Re: WELCOME TO THE JUNE EXERCISE THREAD

Good evening all!  I went for another walk tonight just like the walk this morning.  Fitbit seems happy with me.  We'll see if my knee is later this evening.

Re: WELCOME TO THE JUNE EXERCISE THREAD

Good morning, all!

Just finished up my trainer workout and am back at work.  I am dealing with the terrible plant manager again.  He is a bully and if he doesn't get things his way, he literally throws a tantrum.  This happened last Friday and then his boss (who I have always been able to have good discussions with) jumped on the pile on and it got so bad, I had to go to my boss.  The two bosses are having a meeting today and I know I'm going to get some hand slaps, but I hope the plant manager is taken to task about the way he talks to me.

Just started my 2nd tray for invisalign.  1 down, 22 to go.

Not much else--I did get my back lawn mowed yesterday and then it didn't rain like it was supposed to!!!

Hope you all  have a good day!!

Re: WELCOME TO THE JUNE EXERCISE THREAD

Hey all, well today was strength with Kaleigh 30 minutes Total body and the 30 minutes on the bike.

Have a estate planning meeting this afternoon so we can get some things in order so our kids don't have a mess when our time comes.  I don't even like thinking about it honestly.  I have a lot of living here to do!

Babysitting is in 2 weeks in CO, the fires I mentioned were in Canada, so that'w why the smoke is hanging over us.

Very hazy today and chilly enough where we need jackets today.  I love it!

Re: WELCOME TO THE JUNE EXERCISE THREAD

Hi Everyone!  Did one walk today and waited until this evening.  This morning my knee was not too happy that I did two walks yesterday.  Should have known better than to push it.  Anyway, did one walk today and all seems ok.

Other than that, I didn't do much today - just one errand this morning and then home.

Take care!

Re: WELCOME TO THE JUNE EXERCISE THREAD

[ Edited ]

Went on a 45 minute run with a friend...she's willing to go at 5 am, so a really good friend. Lol. I don't have much speed in me, but getting outdoors just feels so wonderful.

Jack is stuck in limbo as the in-patient rehabilitation facility and the skilled nursing facility take their time to process the transfer. It's so annoying dealing with people who don't seem to have any urgency to to their #$%$&% jobs. The clock is ticking on approved coverage and these people just plod along.

The skilled nursing place is just such a grim place to park people who are in need of care. It's a fairly large place and in the wing where Jack is staying, very few people have daily visitors/family helping them. I brought pillows, sheets and blankets from home because they do not change the linens on a daily basis. The staff let's me do anything...probably because then they don't have to do as much. Doesn't matter...let them give time to the poor souls who have no one local to help. I just want him out of there.

A thing that made this seems so real was ordering the transport wheelchair.  Dang....for some reason that made me tear up...my beautiful Jack in a wheelchair. It will be months before they can try to fit him for a prosthetic leg. Jack's spirits waver from feeling very low to being his normal optimistic self. Having his brothers around has been such a blessing.

Re: WELCOME TO THE JUNE EXERCISE THREAD

@kate2357 - I am so glad you have someone to go running with early in the morning and that Jack's brothers are such a blessing.  I can understand why ordering Jack's wheelchair would make you tear up.  This is a huge adjustment for both of you and you have your own grief and emotions to deal with too.  Its ok to let the tears flow when and where they want to.  Please know that my prayers for you, Jack, and your family continue and will do so.

Re: WELCOME TO THE JUNE EXERCISE THREAD

Good morning, all.

Estate planning...sounds rich.  I know it's necessary that, though.  I thought about Invisalign a few years ago but I had more problems than Invisalign would cure not to mention I'm sure I wouldn't have the discipline for them.  They worked, though.  A coworker of mine had good teeth but crowded.  Afte using them her teeth were perfect.  Then she stopped using them unfortunately.

Off to the dentist for my cleaning this morning.  Have a great day everyone.

Re: WELCOME TO THE JUNE EXERCISE THREAD

I have been doing  my usual workouts.. Rec center, walking, biking.. and intermittent chair yoga.. need to get better at the latter.

@kate2357  Its a systemic problem- the nursing home siuation.. WHY?  When I was working as a nurse many moons ago- we kept people at the hospital for rehab. THEN insurance companies inserted themselves, directors, who were once doctors replaced with business people and this is the result..Message became clear- send the patients to a nursing home wing designated  for rehab. Most people I have visited find it the same as you are experiencing.  I am glad you have family support, and you yourself can get out and do what you like. One of my mom's favorite lines to me is , "One day at time"- can ring true in so many instances.. I think about you every day.. Thank you for posting.

@DrKelli - Invisalign  going good? My son's teeth look fabulous once he completed the weeks of wearing it.  What a difference.

Everyone  keep doing what do- despite smoke, mosquitos, weather,  etc..

If I havent' said it enough- I really enjoy this forum!
