Re: WELCOME TO THE JUNE EXERCISE THREAD

@bopper Must admit that seems a bit odd to me too.  I'd be hurt and disappointed as well as angry.

Today I did 18 minutes, LOL, of Body Groove.  I know its a weird amount of time but thats when the song ended.  Ankle held up just fine - I was wearing my ankle support so I'm sure that helped but otherwise, it did fine.  Keeping fingers crossed this continues.

Have a good rest of your day!

Re: WELCOME TO THE JUNE EXERCISE THREAD

Good morning, all.  I feel like I'm living in the Delta with this constant rain and humidity.  Not expected to be normal here until maybe Friday.

@JudyL, you're being careful and sensible.  You don't want a setback.

I considered canceling my ophthalmology appointment today since these pop up storms keep happening but I'm gonna take a chance and hope my appointment time will be dry or at least not during a downpour during my drive.  And no high standing water along my drive route.

Before my 11:30 appointment, I'm going to stop in my fitness center for a workout since it's along my route.  My senior cardio class yesterday was fun.  Also included five laps around the track.  I notice my walks at home are more comfortable than that track, though.

Have a safe day everyone!

Re: WELCOME TO THE JUNE EXERCISE THREAD

Hi everyone!!

@bopper I'm in your corner on this one--why would they have you go through all you have to go through (get a dog sitter, get to the airport, fly) and then only spend one day/night with you???  Downtown is going to be crazy with the amount of people there.

We have another perfect day here--it was in the low 50s when I woke up and our high is supposed to be upper 70s.  I have to admit--I've enjoyed the cooler weather.

I have my trainer workout in a few minutes--I don't like working out this early in the morning because I have only had one cup of coffee, but he changed my time.  I have the feeling that England is playing soccer (he's from England) in some tournament, so he wants to watch.  That's okay, I guess.

I have my dance lesson later today, so I'm getting a 2fer today.

I think the weather is crazy all over the country--I have friends in Portland that are dying with the excessive heat.  Not literally, but it is miserable for them because they aren't used to it.  I"m headed for Minnesota for work in 2 weeks and I'm certainly not looking forward to the humidity there in July.

Not much else to say--have a good rest of your day!!

Re: WELCOME TO THE JUNE EXERCISE THREAD

Good morning ladies!

This morning I did 15 minutes of Body Groove.  Depending on the routine thats usually 3 to 4 songs.  Not a lot but at least its something.

Well last night we had an earthquake.  It was a rumble and then a hard jolt, lasted about 10 seconds.  To put it in perspective, the '89 quake lasted 19 seconds.  The house creaking and the noise was scary - it was loud.  My cat tried to warn me too!  I stood in a doorway and watched a light decoration type thing fly off my hutch.  It flew almost half way across the room.  Other things fell off the hutch to the floor too.  It supposedly was a 4.0 but I am only a few miles from the epicenter and it felt stronger than that to me.

Took me a while to calm down.  Talked to my DD and she felt it too but not as strong as she is a little further away.  All seems quiet now and have felt no after shocks.

Take care today!

@JudyL I am glad you are okay--I just heard about that earthquake and wondered if you had any damage!

Re: WELCOME TO THE JUNE EXERCISE THREAD

Happy Tuesday.   This morning it's still raining.   Started yesterday at 4 and its still raining and it's so humid.  My yard is getting mushrooms and that grosses me out so bad!

@JudyL  how scary!  I hadn't heard about it.  I'd be on edge too!  Be safe!!

@Mmsfoxxie  sounds like youa re getting all the moisture too.  I don't deal well with humid.  I wish our Y had a track.   Not that I go there but hubby does.

@DrKelli  yes downtown will be nuts!   That partI am not looking forward too at all.  I guess he has a driver taking us.  We can't manuever around not knowing where we are going and not familiar with that area.   Yup that's the plan, sucks doesn't it?   Granted he pays for the flights through all his points he gets so we aren't paying for a thing but thought we'd be staying together in his house.  2 weeks from today I'll be there..

Hugs to all!.

Re: WELCOME TO THE JUNE EXERCISE THREAD

Good morning ladies!  The last day of June!  Whew!

This morning I did 20 minutes of Body Groove.  The last song worked on balance which I really need.

Not much else to report here.  No more ground shaking, not even an aftershock which is really weird but I'm not complaining!

Hope everyone has a good day

Re: WELCOME TO THE JUNE EXERCISE THREAD

Good morning, all!

@JudyL is Body Groove a streamed service/workout?  How much is it?

I got 3 workouts in yesterday.  1 trainer (weights), LaBlast and then my dance lesson.  When we had one of the other instructors video it, she said "Kelli!  You really have raised the bar for music!"  We're doing a paso doble to Run DMCs version of Walk this Way.

I just have my dance lesson today, but I'm getting plenty of exercise tearing my upstairs apart looking for a jewelry bag.  I'm looking for a very specific ring and I have emptied all the boxes of jewelry in my bathroom.  I've found 47 rings but not the one I am looking for.  My guest bedroom is a mess from when my closet fell apart last year--it was mostly cleaned up, but then I  had to tear my bathroom apart.  I'm a hot mess.

Hope you all have a good rest of the day--I have a meeting in "Conference Room B" to go to.

Re: WELCOME TO THE JUNE EXERCISE THREAD

[ Edited ]

@DrKelli - I know that Body Groove is streamed but don't know the cost.  I buy her DVDs off the Body Groove website.  Since I"m so inconsistent with my exercising that paying for a streaming service those months that I don't exercise seems wasteful - like a gym membership - so the DVDs are better for me.

I like them because each session is anywhere from 25 to 40 minutes - it states on the back of the DVD cover how long each session is.  Also each one is different in the music and the routine so I don't get bored too easily.  There are 2 DVDs per set and each DVD has 3 different sessions on it.

I do know her streaming service has a 30 day free trial so maybe you could try that first and see how you like it.
