Re: WELCOME TO THE JANUARY EXERCISE THREAD

Good morning all!

@JudyL congratulations!  I'm also relieved to see you posting this morning, given the storms in California!

I did have my trainer workout this morning--it was one of the harder ones.  You start with 10 reps (bicep curls and shoulder press--one set each), then do 8 reps, 6 reps, 4 reps, 2 reps.  By the end of the set--you have worked to muscle fatigue.  We also did situps and triceps (2nd set of exercises), straight leg raise, chest press (3rd round) and final round, tap to press and rows.  It's a lot harder than it sounds.

I did my lesson yesterday and will teach lablast on Friday and Saturday.  My ear is still clogged, but I pray every night that the next day will be THE day!  Last night was bad because my cough came back with a vengeance and I had to take "nighttime" formula cough syrup because it was the only thing I had on hand. It was horrible.

I hope you are all having a wonderful day--I can't believe I have to work 5 whole days next week LOL!!

Re: WELCOME TO THE JANUARY EXERCISE THREAD

@DrKelli -  thank you!  It has started to rain hard again.  Ugh.  Heard we are to get a break this afternoon and Friday then light showers over the weekend and another big storm hits on Monday.  Typical California winter - we either get no rain or we get deluged with it.

Re: WELCOME TO THE JANUARY EXERCISE THREAD

Got in a 60 minute run today. Boy was it a slog to get thru. Friday is recovery day. May try to work in some time on the reformer, but right now, doing nothing tomorrow sounds good.

Re: WELCOME TO THE JANUARY EXERCISE THREAD

Hello, today was my rest day and I needed it.   But shoveling for 45 minutes isn't considered resting.  The snow I tell ya was so heavy I had to break it into chunks to get it off my deck.  And underneath it ice.

@JudyL  Congratulations!  You will love retirement!!

The trees here are like a winter wonderland... Bending over with snow!   Some lost power last night because it's so very heavy.

I feel lazy today but I guess it's okay because we all need a day or even 2 to rest.

Re: WELCOME TO THE JANUARY EXERCISE THREAD

@maggie04 TGIF!!

@JudyL YAY!!!!!!

I am so happy it's Friday. I am so drugged. I finally threw everything at my sinus infection after a month and I am hoping it's responding. Seems like it and I am beyond happy to have a free weekend with no holidays for the next two days.

I got my yoga in last night for the fourth day. I'll have to do today's after work. I've been so tired with the medicine that it's hard to get out of bed. I usually take kid's medicine but with the shortage I decided to go with adult to be nice.  I need to stick with the kid's and stop overdosing myself. Hazards of being a tiny little thing.

Anyway, have a great Friday! I can not wait for my ending bell.

Re: WELCOME TO THE JANUARY EXERCISE THREAD

Good morning, all!

@Laura14 I tried to go off the cold meds this week and it took one night for me to realize that I still had loads of snot in my sinuses and lungs, so I went back on it.  I agree--the meds make you tired.

Still have the clogged up ear.  To make matters more fun, I got a jury duty notice for the week that I have the ENT appointment.  I did request a postponement of that because I don't want to have to reschedule that appointment.  Plus I have an oncology appointment that same week.  I emailed the jury commissioner and she already responded--I'm just waiting for a new date.

I will get a workout in later because I am teaching LaBlast at the other studio (where I sub) and then my regular class tomorrow.

It's still really cold here, but no snow--which is how January usually is. It's actually one of the drier months, but we've already had several inches of snow.

Well, I'm busy at work, so I hope you all have a good weekend!!

Re: WELCOME TO THE JANUARY EXERCISE THREAD

@DrKelli When it rains, it pours. I cannot believe it. Jury duty is the last thing you need.

You are so right. I am exhausted from all the medication in my body. It has really messed with me and I'm sure you. I am like falling asleep and I only take it when I get home at night so I can sleep most of it off.

Here's hoping we both get off the meds soon!

Re: WELCOME TO THE JANUARY EXERCISE THREAD

Good morning!

@DrKelli and @Laura14 - I hope you both feel better very soon.  Have gone through what you are both experiencing numerous times and it is truly awful.

No rain today but some light rain later then a break tomorrow with more rain tomorrow night into Sunday then a break in the afternoon and another big storm Monday and Tuesday.  Even though we need the rain desperately and I'm grateful for it, these back-to-back big storms are starting to get concerning for the flooding, trees falling causing damage.  Sadly a little 2 year old lost his life when a huge tree fell on his house.  Our coastlines are taking a beating.  I'm hoping with another big storm coming Monday and Tuesday the office will decide to stay closed those 2 days.

Got off topic a bit, sorry about that.  No workout for me this morning.  Know I need to do something.  Hopefully soon.  Have a good day everyone!
