@bopper, I had to get a colonoscopy every four years. Due to my constipation issues, I believe. This was my fourth one. First time the prep made me sick, though. This might me my last one due to my age. Depends on what the insurance will cover.

Happy Saturday!
I've beaten back the worst of my cold but the sinusitis continues. Actually slept through the night last night so that's progress. I need new meds if I ever get to the store again.
Did some walk/run this morning to get back into something. I feel like I am so far behind on the yoga. But I did something.
Meal prepping today. Have a great weekend!

Hey Today was 15 minutes warmup on the Vibration platform, rebounding very low bouncing for 30 minutes to music and 40 minutes on the reformer.
The sun came out today and it was a delight!
I have colonoscopies every 3 years because I had 2 polyps and I hope in March that stretches to 10 years.
I feel like a sore throat is coming on. I sure hope not!

Happy Sunday Funday
An unplanned workout today. How often do you do an unplanned workout???
Total gym 40 minutes free style lower body and abs to disco music. When I do my own thing and don't do someone elses video I do a lot better. My HR stayed up and over 230 calories burned.
Now football time. It's 30 outside and windy, I'm so over winter but it's not leaving anytime soon. I need to deal better!
@Mmsfoxxie I didn't know there was a certain age where you didn't need a colonoscopy anymore? May I ask your age? I'm going to turn 68 in May

Happy Sunday.
Rainy and a bit breezy so Saturday I did 45 minutes on rowing machine and later in day I did 20 minutes on treadmill because I was bored. Today I put in 60 minutes on treadmill and 30 minutes working abs.
As for unplanned workouts, I sometimes get in a 2nd workout if one of my family or friends call and want to go for a walk or a jog. Or like yesterday, I just get bored and weather is too ugly for yard work and I will do a quick jog or some time with weights. Moving keeps me from getting a case of the winter blahs....which in dreary and gray Seattle can easily happen.

Hi, everybody!
@bopper, girl, I'll be 76 in August of this year if the Lord allows it. I have heard that Medicare does not pay for colonoscopies after a certain age. I don't remember where I heard that. Same thing for pap exams until there is a specific reason/symptoms of an issue. Personally, I believe that the older you are, the less doctors consider your problems are worth a lot of concern. Sure, they have you come for visits but that's so they can bill Medicare, not necessarily to solve your problem.

This morning I "slept in" until 3:45! Oh boy! I guess that's better than waking up at 3:00 but not much. Today is a holiday so no work. Had more heavy rain overnight but supposedly later this week we are to get a break for a few days. Right now I'm having coffee but hopefully later will find the energy to at least do a Leslie Sanson walkng work out.
Take care!

Good morning - again! LOL
Just got done doing 25 minutes of a 30 minute Leslie Sanson walking workout. Had to modify some cuz of the knee but kept my arms moving and walked or modified when I couldn't do some of the moves. Thats a 5 minute increase over the Body Groove workouts I was doing so I am happy I pushed myself a bit today.
Been thinking about why I keep waking up at 3:00am or so and have decided that, well, I'm scared. Scared of retiring and the unknown as to what it'll be like not working after 50+ years and also financially what it'll be like. I have prepared for it financially and my adviser says I'll be ok but it's still the unknown for me that is so scary. Have applied for Social Security and Medicare and Supplemental insurance so those are in process. But when I wake up at 3:00am my mind just won't shut down - what about this, what about that, what will this be like, remember to do this or that, etc. Finishing up at work is a bit stressful too because I want to make sure my desk is as taken care of as possible, my attorneys are in good shape and will be taken care of, instructions are everywhere for whomever takes over. It feels like a lot and I'm overwhelmed as well. Even though I can tell myself all will be ok, my financial adviser - bless his heart - reassures me all will be ok, it's still overwhelming and scary. It's a huge decision and a huge life change. I needed to get this out into the "universe" so to speak. Speaking it out loud helps. Thank you ladies for being my sounding board today.
The good and positive note for today - the sun is out, the skies are clear and blue, and we have a slight breeze. Wahooo! No rain! Well at least not until maybe late this afternoon for a shower or two. It is quite chilly but I am going to open my windows for a bit and air out the house anyway.

@JudyL Totally get it. I dream of the day I might be able to, but I have also had moments of looking around my current office of the past 20 plus years and thinking what that last day of walking away from here for good will really be like. Without a lottery win, it's a scary thought and I have no home of my own to fall back on right now. My mother keeps talking about how she's going to die soon even though she has no issue other than she's approaching the age her parents lived to and, once that happens, my whole world upends. I honestly wish she would stop.
I did some walking this morning. Might try to get in a yoga routine tonight. I am still dealing with sinus ****** and I'm really over it. Haven't had time to get some new meds but I think I might try my Lessman PM just to sleep myself since my sinuses like to wake me up around 2am lately. Nothing I have done, humidifier, etc helps. Drugs do but I want to stop drugging myself already. I'm over it big time.
Hope everyone is having a good week.

RE: retirement - I think once you've had your last day and you walk away knowing you made sure your desk was cleared away, that you've had a plan and kept to your plan (financially) and all the paperwork is done - you will feel lighter. At least, that is how it worked for me. Being nervous/apprehensive about such a big change is natural. But you know how to be organized and put together plans and this is just a big plan for YOURSELF and not someone else.
Re: not sleeping - I have the same issue now, but in my case it is a hormone (or lack of) that causes me to not be able to sleep through the night. It's irksome to say the least. I used to take a low dose of melatonin for years and it would help me get asleep and I would get maybe 5 hours uninterrupted sleep.
Since this past summer when I had to have surgery, melotonin no longer works. Too high of a doseage and I have horrible, vivid nightmares. Crazy dreams that keep you from going back to sleep. I've been trying a combination of sleep aids from Winged Wellness (out of Colorado). One is CBD based (hemp) and the other is not. I take one of the cbd gummies and one of the non cbd gummies and it has helped me to be able to fall asleep and then get back to sleep if I wake to go the bathroom. I'm not suggesting it to anyone, just saying what I've been trying the past 2 months.
Good luck to you w/ the upcoming retirement and for better weather.
