WOW- The Eagles sure earned the title Superbowl Champs.. Have to say I enjoyed watching them win. The Chiefs I felt were over rated all season.. And they won the last 2 years.. Now no football for quite awhile..
I got out for a couple of good walks and my plan this week is to up my distance. I have my first ortho appt. post op surgery tomorrow- Around the house I don't use my cane much anymore.. Plan to get out in one of my nature areas that has a cement path today. Don't think it's going to be warm, but it'll be to good to walk somewhere different and maybe push me a little more.
Enjoy your day everyone.

@minkbunny welcome to this thread! I don't post nearly enough, but I do enjoy reading what everyone is up to. I was happily surprised to read that you live in the Missouri Ozarks! If it's not too personal of a question, where do you live? I live in Springfield.
The sun came out yesterday afternoon, and it was glorious to see. It was still too cold to powerwalk outside, which is my favorite aerobic exercise, so I used my mini-stepper for 30 minutes plus did my core exercises (SI joint injury) and shoulder exercises (for mobility). It is supposed to be cloudy this afternoon with a wind chill of 35 about 1pm or so, so I am going to bundle up and head out sometime between 1 and 2. I will just do a 30-40 minute walk in my neighborhood because of the cold. I will also do my core exercises and hand exercises (cartilage tear injury) at some point today. Seems like most of my strengthening exercises are because of injuries. Ha!
@SouthernBee you are doing so well with your Cubii and not snacking! You should be very proud of yourself!
@violet runner I hope you get out to enjoy the nature path today. We have a Conservation Nature Center here, and it is one of my favorite places to walk for many reasons. Especially early morning, I am blessed to see deer, turkey, birds, and other creatures. And it has a variety of terrain, so I get some good cardio done.
I wish everyone a blessed day!

Good Morning All,
Had a good day yesterday despite the Chiefs loss but do congratulate the Eagles on a great game.
Got in my Ellipse and my biking so that helped make up a bit for the chips and onion dip ![]()
@SouthernBee Thank you for the prayers and good wishes for my husband. He has certainly been through a lot and we appreciate your kind thoughts.
@Ainhisg Hi neighbor. We live northwest of Springfield but spend a lot of time in the "city". Gonna be a little bit nippy this week, isn't it ?
My son and daughter-in-law gradulated from Missouri State and my son worked for the federal prison ( Fed Med ) for over twenty years. We have spent a lot of time at Cox South ( I can tell you every vending machine location on every floor ). We have been given excellent care and are grateful for it.
I have grands and greatgrands in Springfield, Nixa, Ozark and Rogersville. All those towns have grown so much the past twenty years, haven't they?
Maybe we will meet up at Battlefield Mall or even better The Big Biscuit one day.
Have a good day all. I am preparing to make up my fruit salad for the week - I make a big bowl each Monday and eat little dish each day for breakfast with half a bagel or a piece of raisin toast or something like that.
Sounds like all our wellness warriors are working hard at it, so keep it up.

@minkbunny I am an MSU graduate myself. I am so sorry you are intimately aware of Cox South. I hope everyone is okay now. I volunteered at Cox South a little over 10 years ago. I took patients back to their pre-op rooms and also delivered flowers. Yes, all the towns around Springfield aren't so small anymore. I've lived here 25 years, and Springfield has changed so much!

Good morning. Home from my PT appt and feeling pretty discouraged. The Dr wants my knee at a 110 degree bend and I can't seem to get mine any more than 97 degrees. I do my exercises every day but it just doesn't want to bed any further. The PT person said that I have a few more visits and will then be reevaluated. If I'm no further along, they will have to release me because Medicare won't pay for any more visits. I see the Dr on March 7th, but DD thinks I should call him and let him know what's going on and see what he says. Right now I am so done with all of this and just don't care. If this is as good as my knee will bend then so be it. I'm really wishing I had never had this surgery.

@JudyL I am sorry to hear you aren't where you want to be with your knee and PT also chiming in.. Perhaps your DD is spot on- time to bend the ear of the ortho doc who did the surgery.. Sometimes our anatomy limits us- it's just the nature of how we are built. Only you can answer that. If you are satisfied with the extent of your knee and where it's at from surgery-- as you say, so be it. We all don't fit a certain timetable... and that also irks me with insurance coverage. Would you continue with PT if your doc can extend Medicare covering it.??
I did get out to my nature path.. it was cold. Pretty bleak with time of year.. One eerie thing- the water under thin ice was moaning and groaning.. Rather intriquing. ( and creepy sounding). I got in nearly 2 miles round trip.. so pleased with that. Using my cane most of the time. Overall nice and " refreshing" ...

Hello all, today was my Mindful Monday semi resting day. My body is my home so must take care of it. Light vibration plate workout, squats, biceps, abs, and some housework.
It's dang cold here 16 this morning and the wind making it even colder. I think we're having this severe cold for at least 3 more days and then another snow system is moving. I bundled up and sat on my deck because the sun was out. The only skin showing was my face haha.
I was disappointed in the game because I though by all the hoopla it would be closer. I think the Chiefs are over-rated. Glad the Eagles won. Now on to my favorite sport Baseball!! Bring on Spring Training!
@Ainhisg good to see your post!! Come over anytime.
@JudyL sorry your knee isn't quite at 110 degrees but like @violet runner said maybe your anatomy is the reason.
@minkbunny and @SouthernBee good to see you today! I have some venison taco meat in the cooker so that will be our dinner tonight.
Have a good evening!

@bopper and @violet runner - have called my Dr's office and left message. They are good about calling back so hopefully will hear today or tomorrow.

Heard from the Dr's office. I decided to try something and if that doesn't work, I'll call next week and she'll get me in to the Dr.
