I'm a newbie on this post that caught my eye and thought I would stop in and say hello.  Working from home since 2020 has it's perks and downfalls.  I use to commute daily by subway and walking but now that I WFH  I recently added chair yoga to my daily routine just 10 minutes so far to ease some aches and pains that have creeped up on me.  I am enjoying it a great deal too and was wondering what others were doing.

@Luvitorleaveit1 - Welcome to the group!  I've heard a lot about chair yoga lately.  Do you watch it on YouTube?  I'm recovering from knee replacement surgery at the moment so my exercise is limited to what my physical therapist has me doing.  Although, I am using my Cubii most days and have been getting out for short walks a few days a week. 

 

Was thinking once I get released from physical therapy - who knows when that will be - chair yoga may be something I would start doing to get myself back into "regular" exercise again.   

 

Please keep us posted on your progress whenever you feel like it.  We all do something different and are at different levels of exercising.

@JudyL - I had knee replacement years ago but now my other knee sometimes acts up but I don't want to do another surgery, instead I go get acupuncture and I do the chair yoga right from my tablet through the app.

@bopper...love your entry post starting off Feb.
I've done chair yoga ( u tube) for a year now. On hiatus as the ladies here know..just about 1 week post hip replacement ( my second). Definitely will return to it as soon as I can.

@JudyL until I damaged my SI joint in a fall, I did chair (and some floor) yoga.  (Yoga is a no-no for this type of injury.) A long time ago, someone on these boards posted that Peggy Cappy had yoga videos for people who were just starting or had limitations in their movement. Many of her videos show the regular poses on the floor and then there will be someone doing them in a chair.  I thoroughly enjoyed them and felt they were very helpful.  I wish I could still do them!

If you go to Amazon and type in Peggy Cappy, it will pull up DVD's, VHS tapes (believe it or not...lol), and books by her that you can purchase.  But what I did was change the search parameters to be only Prime Video, as I wanted to purchase the videos for download.  Easy to watch on the Prime Video app on TV's, iPads, or phones.  You can read the reviews to see what people say about the various videos.

Here is a screen shot of the Amazon home page.  I've circled in red what you need to choose from the dropdown menu if you are interested in seeing what can be downloaded.  If not, then just type Peggy Cappy in the regular search bar that comes up when you go to Amazon.  Also...I included a screenshot of the two videos I purchased as downloads.  I really liked them.  Of course, they were specific for what I wanted to address.

@violet runner  - I knew someone in the group had been doing chair yoga but couldn't remember who.  Hope you are feeling better today.

Welcome @Luvitorleaveit1  and @Ainhisg so nice to see some new faces.   I haven't done chair yoga either but looks interesting.

The chair yoga I use is Sarah Starr.. I like her backgrounds- oceans, nature, cacatus, sunflowers.etc. Many to chose from.

Chair yoga has been the only exercise I can commit to do at least six out of the seven days per week in the morning.  With my lower back issues, knee and sciatica, it has definitely helped me move around better.
