Good morning everybody. Boy what a bad weather day yesterday and most of last night. Flooding. Some people had to be rescued from their cars and home. My suburb, at least on my street got some standing water but not extreme. My backyard was a mini pond with the grass fully submerged.
Good to 'see' you @Iluvlucy. Glad you're doing well. I posted yesterday. You probably didn't see it because I didn't write a book for a change, lol. But you did a great job of summarizing what everybody wrote. I can never remember all of it.
No going out this morning for me. Too many routes have flooding going on. I'll do something at home. Have a great day everyone.

@Iluvlucy, yes, I'm still enjoying Red Hatters. Tomorrow, I'm going to a luncheon with one of my chapters. Later in March I'm attending what's called a Funvention for a weekend at a hotel in a suburb near here. Then, in June we have a Toronto, Canada/Niagra Falls tour on a luxury bus planned. I'm gonna get one of those motion sickness patches from my doctor, I think so that I don't have to keep taking my Dramamine every few hours. Lots of fun coming.

Good morning, all. The storm moved on, leaving us with bitter cold temps. It was minus 4 this morning. We had fog at my house, so the first part of the commute was extra challenging. It isn't supposed to warm up very much either--40s by the weekend. One positive thing--it is starting to get light earlier--about halfway to work, the sun is coming up! And it is staying lighter later--until about 6. YAY! I have 18 days until my cruise and I cannot wait.
I'm going to brave the cold and go down to the gym for yoga this morning. I've been kind of lazy the last few weeks. I'll do Zumba on the ship on the sea days.
@Mmsfoxxie, be careful of the patches---they can have a horrible side effect of dry mouth. They used to give me those before surgery because I would get realy sick from the anesthetic and it gave me dry mouth so bad I could hardly eat. They do have non drowsy dramamine that comes in a 24 hour formula. That's what I take on cruises.
I hope you all have a great day.

Thanks for the heads up about dry mouth @DrKelli. I've had the non drowsy version of Dramamine and it doesn't seem to work as well for me. Bonine either. But any of those have to be taken every few hours and I want to avoid that. ETA: just noticed you said 24 hour formula).
A couple of years ago, we were in Jamaica and although I took the medication, apparently there wasn't enough in my system for that rough cab ride back to the airport and I had to have the driver pull over and throw up. My fault trying to take the smallest amount needed.
I used a patch once years ago when for some unknown reason vertigo hit me. It went on for a week before I went to the doctor. He prescribed a patch and I had to wear it for two weeks. When I took it off, the vertigo didn't return but for about a week afterwards there was a rash behind my ear at the site the patch was on. Unfortunately, it resembled ringworm because a couple of coworkers asked me about it since I worked around children.
Unfortunately, as I've gotten older, dizziness happens more often. Before my colonoscopies, I have to take Dramamine starting the day before because of the anesthesia as you do.

@bopper@Mmsfoxxie@DrKelli I hope you all warm up and dry out soon! We have been nothing but foggy and rainy and warm 65-70 for the past several days. Can't even enjoy the nicer weather because it is so dreary out. Spring will be here soon but I am not looking forward to yard work again.
@Iluvlucy I hope your DH is on the mend soon. I am kind of excited and kind of scared about the Pharmacy Tech job. I've been procrastinating my final certification test because at that point it becomes real and it's jump time. Still going to go for it though. March is usually my worst month at the curent job so it should be real clear in a few weeks that it is past time to move on.
@nomless I don't think I realized you were looking for a new job. Good luck fellow job seeker!
@MickD You are throwing us all a virtual pool party when you're done right?
My bike and body blade and shoes have shipped so I can't wait to get them all and try them out. Super excited to get in shape at home. Have a great Wednesday all!

Happy Wednesday, our ice storm has moved on now and the sun is coming out, it was terrible, I've never seen it like that. I shoveled as I said and my deck was like breaking glass. I'm glad I was able to get to the grocery store today, I really needed to go, and did some yard laps with the pup, TG, short 10 minute workout as I"m having my GD today.
Laura, I'm very excited for you to start this new career, I think you'll like it, but understand your fears too.
My DIL told me about a new gym opening up near their house, has anyone heard of Vasa? I saw pictures of it and it looks really nice! Lots of different classes too.
Foxxie enjoy Red Hatters, sounds fun! Flooding is very scary, glad you are safe!
Dr.Kelli, you had some frigid weather too didn't you? Lucky thing for you is it warms up fast.
MickD you feeling more like yourself now?
Nomless my new shoes are supposed to be in today but because of the ice storm yesterday not sure if they will come. I have to go back to the shoe store to make sure they fit okay, and if they do I"ll test them out on the treadmill.
Oh, my GD is here, later kids

@Laura14 Haha! Where's cousin Eddie and his flippers.....beer in hand!
Seriously - I used to wear a 2 piece from athleta....flash forward a few years and lbs.....I got a 2 piece - bikini bottom and long top covering the gut....so not functional in a pool. I really don't like a 1 piece, but hey - go big or go home!

Thanks MickD! We're super excited, everyone is tickled pink for us, I've heard from people I haven't heard from in years. Cousin Eddie...lol, an all-time fave in this house. Yep, DS knows he gets bored easily so needs an environment that is challenging. I saw you on the Ripka forum one day...I just had a "FB memory" where Indy had commented on it. We were really close...her husband emailed me after she passed and I shared it on the forum. I met her in person and we hit it off...emailed every single day, talked on the phone, were just going to get together with our husbands after they returned from Switzerland. I wasn't nuts about her going on that trip, I knew she wasn't feeling well. She called the day before they flew out and I didn't think she sounded well at all. Anyway, it was a bit of a kick in the gut when I saw her name pop up on my post.
MsFoxxie, glad to hear you're enjoying the Red Hatters. I love having a group of women to get together with every week, I've made some good friends here already and have a hiking group I recently joined. Many of the ladies in my bible study also hike, power-walk, and bike.
Laura...you'll do great! Just the fact that you took the bull by the horns and are getting out of your current job situatio( that didn't sound good) says a lot. You already took the biggest step, I'm sure you're up for the challenge and will be so glad you did this.
I guess it's time to hit the basement, I need to do a long run today and upper body. Was going to do a nice ride as my cool down but it's way too wet out so will row instead. We went the other day when the sun was out and it was in the 20's...it was so nice so we kept going! I'm going with DH to DC next month(he has a conference) and we're making a long weekend of it, there is a ride we are interested in doing with friends that do it every year.
Time to rock-n-roll, it's been great catching up with everyone! Maybe I'll check back in a few months again...lol.
