Re: WELCOME TO THE DECEMBER EXERCISE THREAD

My GS is sleeing upstairs.. I am up my usual early time. I have to say , him being older now ( 6) he did real well going to bed and not getting back up.. Me- I slept ok- not a deep sleep- but  feel rested.  My son will come this morning around 9 to pick him. I have my coffee group I meet up with every Sat- so will go to that after they leave. '

Yesterday  after chores, thought I would walk more into the foothills. Note to self- check the weather  first. Actually I did, but didn't look at the wind.  As  the saying goes, :The hawk was up".. ! ( meaning high winds)   Where I live it was fine.. The foothills at the base the Rockies,,can be a diffefent story..  I got about a mile and half in and decided that was enough! I'll just call it a shorter walk and resistance training.

I hope to get a walk in today if time allows..

@bopper  your workouts seem more versatile. Doing different things. I would love to get on bike outside- just doesn't seem to warm up enough. In my younger years, I would bundle up accordingly and off I would go!  I can always go to the rec center, but I avoid it on the weekends.

@JudyL  Everyone's recovery time is different. From what you have written it sounds pretty much  classic recovery for a knee replaement. I recall with my hip thinking it took way longer to get to feeling it was a success..  Pretty natural to feel a little discouraged. -  It's only been 10 months since my surgery- there was a point though- all of a sudden I was walking good, no pain,  and gaining my strength back- It all comes together- and it will for you too.

I hope everyone that used to  post is doing ok too.

Have a good Sat.. I have some odds and ends of Xmas to  get done..  but am pretty well set..

   Stay warm and safe...

Re: WELCOME TO THE DECEMBER EXERCISE THREAD

@violet runner  - Thank you for your support and encouragement.  Never did I think this recovery would be like this.  I'm so over it and fed up with it.  I've also been thinking about those we haven't heard from in a while - Kate and Laura - although I have seen Laura post in the Beauty forum so know she is around and ok.  Concerned about Kate and Jack though since it's been so long since we've heard from her.  Glad to hear from Dr Kelli when she posts.  MMFoxie usually chimes in every week too so we know that she is doing ok.

Glad that you and @bopper are here and thankful for your patience and support during this recovery.  LOL  I'm sure ya'll are as tired of it as I am!

Have a good Saturday and hope you can get outside for a walk.

Re: WELCOME TO THE DECEMBER EXERCISE THREAD

Hi Everyone!   Well it warmed up to the 20's so I was glad.   I did the Vibration plate with weights, and a leg workout on youtube, walked the trail with the hubs.

IT's cloudy but no fresh snow.  I'm good with that, but it is still icy.

@violet runner I'd love to hike with you.  I trust you know not to get lost haha.  No outside biking here until Spring and around here that can be June!  Coffee with friends sounds nice.  I should get out more, I feel like a hermit.  But I like it haha!

@JudyL do you do any crafts of any sort.  I see many like this diamond art work.  Thought maybe it would help pass time for you.

Watching Army/Navy game now.  Made meatballs this morning so those are in the crockpot.

Have a good night!

Re: WELCOME TO THE DECEMBER EXERCISE THREAD

@bopper  Would love to take you hiking. When I am by myself I  make sure I know  where I am and it's not as isolated as some places I have gone when I go with others.

Most of the time it's just enough to feel like I am in nature and  on a trail and I don't venture off the trail.

Congrats to the Colorado football team and Travis Hunter winning the Heisman trophy last night. Made my night as I watched the show.   I often think the one who wins that trophy doesn't necessarily go on the NFL and be the best from that class, but I think he will be an impact player for the team that drafts him-   If you don't know about him- google it.. He plays both offense and defense and is on the field almost the whole game doing both.

Today it's another walk day.. and of course football.

Re: WELCOME TO THE DECEMBER EXERCISE THREAD

Hello, today was a mix of walking pad, vibration plate with weights, and rebounder.  My tendinitis in my forearm is flaring up.  I swear when I try and use anything higher than 5 pounds my tendinitis flares.

Lions are on now!   Congrat @violet runner to your team!  That's cool!

It's almost raining her on top of the snow, so very dark and dreary and depressing.

We have no hot water right now and I didn't do an abundence of wash so watch our water heater die now.  Great timing!  NOT

Re: WELCOME TO THE DECEMBER EXERCISE THREAD

@bopper  - No hot water!  Egads!  Hope that has been resolved by now.  Guess I did a bit too much yesterday and today my knee is letting me know.  It's a bit achy so will take it easy and not do much.  It's supposed to be stormy and rainy most of the day untl this afternoon so good day to say inside anyway.

Hope everyone has a good Monday.

Re: WELCOME TO THE DECEMBER EXERCISE THREAD

Hello, well the water problem is weird.   Now we have it, we think it's either about to die or I did to much wash and I don't think that is it.  The procrastinator that my hubby is said lets wait and see.

I did Vibration plate, rebounder, and walking pad today.  It's raining out, can you believe it?

@JudyL sorry about the knee, but sounds like a good day to lay low there anyways.

I roasted a whole chicken for tonight and then I will make soup with the rest of it.

Waving to everyone, feeling sad about the latest school shooting in Madison.  When will this stop!!

Re: WELCOME TO THE DECEMBER EXERCISE THREAD

@JudyL  Maybe your knee will be a weather predictor now- when it's more achy- possible storm coming!! I have heard some people can do that with their joints, just not sure if the joint isn't a real one.. Again, the  ole adage- one day at a time sounds right and true.

I biked yesterday.. Can't tell you the last time but its been awhile. It was a struggle, but also happy to be on the path pedaling. Cold too. 30 degrees when I started out. Any ride I can get in Dec. outside is a good thing..

Today its  the rec center, shower, get a pedi, and head over to my son's. We are going to wrap gifts to my grandson for Xmas together.

@bopper  might be good to look at new water heaters and ready to buy new quickly if you need to. Keep us posted on that.

Is your tendinitis better?

Sorry about your Lions losing. Its shaping up to be fun post season in the NFL.. no one team is standing out. I think KC has just been lucky- and can be beat. Plus their QB is hurt now. Maybe they will sit him out until the playoffs. All to be determined.

Enjoy the day everyone and be safe.

Yes, sad about another school shooting.

Re: WELCOME TO THE DECEMBER EXERCISE THREAD

Hello, today is another dreary dark day.  I did the rebounder for 30 minutes to I Jump Instead on Youtube, then Vibration plate 20 minutes split into standing and laying with weights.  Good hour in the workout room.

@violet runner I agree on the water heater, but hubby will procrastinate and then it will go out on Christmas LOL.   Yeah right now it's anybody's guess on the teams because there have been upsets and such close games.  Detroit has so many injuries!  We came this far we have to play better this weekend.    KC has been lucky! Your afternoon sounds very nice wrapping gifts with your son.   Actually a pedi sounds wonderful, but nobody sees my toes so I guess that's a bust lol

I am starting to get stuff out for packing.  I'm weird about it, I like to be organized, lists are being made so I don't forget stuff.  Hubby could throw a bag together in 30 minutes haha.

I think weather does play a role in our joints.   My lower back and hubbies has been tight and its this barometric pressure.
