Good morning, all!
@Laura14, I'm all confused about the days too. I took Friday off, so I really have vacation brain.
Today is yoga and I am so ready for it. Yesterday's workout was awful, it was the 12 Days of Christmas one and I hate it. I griped the whole time. The trainer eventually just gives up and lets me do my own thing.
I have a canine reiki practitioner coming tomorrow to work on Kevin. I firmly believe in energy work and am hoping this, along with the antibiotics, makes the whole process easier and that Kevin has a full recovery.
My school teacher friend's class is reading their letters from the elves today. I ended up writing 8 total and I told her that I was interested to see if they would follow the elves advice. It was some ridiculous stuff, like singing the Notre Dame fight song, telling their teacher she was pretty, learning Bohemian Rhapsody and singing it for their teacher. One kid asked how I knew (santa) that kids were good or bad and part of my response was that we had a hotline and parents, grandparents, teachers, brothers, sisters could call. We even heard from pets, but everything Duane the Iguana says, we don't really believe. But Kevin the dog is a pretty good source.
Duane the Iguana is actually my friend Erika's iguana and of course, Kevin is mine. I even made a couple of snot jokes, so we'll see if the kids get those. My friend said she would video them.
I tell you, this current Phoenix class is enough to make me want to quit teaching. I've never had a class that I couldn't motivate students to be better.
Well, I've got a busy day ahead of me and I have to make a trip by the vet's office to take back some of the antibiotics, give him the empty boxes of preventative (lot number) and my calendar from 2018 that shows the stickers and my markings to show that I have given the preventative.
Hope you all have a great Wednesday!

Good morning!🌞. I'm not crazy about Christmas either. Too much hustle bustle. More thief happening, more commercialism of the reason for the season.
I had to self talk to myself Saturday when I got home and unwrapped my gift from another Red Hatter. You're supposed to bring a gift with a value of about $25. You're given a number and the numbers are called I order. My was 13 so not much was left on the table. I picked a bag just because it was pretty. Most of the contents was tissue paper. Inside was a small box of candy with. A price tag of $3.99. A nested set (2) of tiny jewelry boxes to hold rings that was super cheap looking, $6.99. And two short table runners, red and green, obviously from a sale table cause they weren't even packaged. The tagged items came from T.J. Maxx known for sales on cheap stuff, imo. No price tag on the runners but I've seen these at the dollar store for a dollar. Seriously. I would guess that the person spent $15, if that. I ordered one of those electric pie cookers from qvc as a gift and one for myself. So, I did the self talk to remind myself that it's not the gift that counts and Jesus is the reason for the season, etc and forget about the fact that most of these ladies seem well to do, well travelled with pensions bigger than my work salary was (guessing, actually but I know most seem to be retired from high paying jobs). But maybe my gift was from someone with less money than me. I'm seriously thinking that next year, I won't participate in the gift exchange. Last year was a beautiful sweater but it was a 1x....I wear it around the house cause it's way too big, 😂. After Christmas, I happen to be in Carsons, the store it was bought from and it was selling for $10, 😂.
Ok, so much for my rambling. I did my first two workout classes yesterday, ditching Zumba. Just wasn't feeling it. I'm getting a little lazy, I think. Too much bad food!
No official workout today but I'm gonna do in place walking and arm movements for an hour or so before I go for my volunteering today. Gotta get at least my 10,000 steps.
@Laura14 Good luck with the visiting relatives.

@DrKelli I'll bet those kids love it!
@Mmsfoxxie I gave a fairly decent gift to one of my coworkers this morning. First time I've ever done that. Left it on his desk because I am always the first one in but with a card so he knew it was from me. I just ran into him downstairs and he said nothing to me which isn't like him. I already told myself it's give it and forget about it since I am really uncomfortable even making the gesture but a thank you would have been nice. At the very least, email it!

@Laura14, I went through that at work, too, although I usually didn't buy gifts especially when I was single. I was always robbing Peter to pay Paul.
What I usually did was bake cakes and or cookies to give. I have lots of little cake pans/fancy cup cake pans that I don't use now. Usually, I'd make little individual pound cakes in those 3 by 5 sizes and wrap in foil or cellophane and put a bow on it. Or make a big carrot or German chocolate cake and put it in the lounge with paper plates, forks and napkins. (Until I caught a person getting a huge, huge hunk wrapping it up to take home. She had already gotten a slice earlier. Unfair to our large staff).
Maybe the guy hadn't seen the gift yet, @Laura14.

I gave my boss and the CEO both bottles of the new year of Beujalais wine with a hand made card yesterday. Neither has said anything, But last year it was a couple of days before I got a thank you email.

@DrKelli @Mmsfoxxie I double checked his office when I walked by. The gift was off the desk! LOL
I truly am in a state of peace about it. I did nothing for years because it just wasn't done and now I have a group that decided last minute to give. I really can't afford much but I did do a little something decent for him and the big boss who already left for the holidays. I just find that funny that he got a "good" gift and said nothing. So far. Maybe he is working up to it.
On the flip side, our intern came in and gave me a big hug and I got a thank you and a small gift from another coworker who got the least I could give. Just some candy and a small ornament.
Interesting to find out who you work with and their manners or lack thereof isn't it?
Anyway, just your funny for the day.
I now give you all twenty minutes of cardio, a pushup, one ab crunch, and 10 deep breaths as my Christmas gift to all of you. Think of me as you do them. ROFLMAO!
Hey we should have done the 12 exercises of Christmas! Next year maybe...

UPDATE! We have a thank you. He had to bring me something to process and I got a big thank you. I have silently apologized for hating on his mama's upbringing.

I stopped giving my attorneys presents years ago. Figured they make so much more money than I do, they can buy their own stuff. Used to bake and bring stuff in for staff but even that got too expensive with all the ingredients, time, containers, and my gas bill was huge after the holidays. So, now I do nothing but say Happy Holidays!
One year I baked for my attorneys. They were all very appreciative except for one. He's known to be grumpy - I called him Eyeore but not to his face. Anyway, I baked a bunch of different things and put them in nice containers in a holiday bag with a tag so he'd know who thery were from and know what his reaction was?
Think angry, rude, disgusted tone, semi-yelling at me over the phone "What is this?! What am I supposed to do with this?! I don't know what to do with this?!"
So know what I did - I walked right down to his office - with him sitting at his desk - and took my bag of goodies back. Looked right at him and said "Don't worry, you won't have to figure out what to do with this now." I walked out of his office before he could say a word.
He's still here at the Firm but I don't work for him any longer.

What @JudyL described about that attorney is exactly the reason I swore I would never work for another law firm 28 years ago.
