I am so bad a posting so I always have to catchup. As you can see I haven't picked up my weights yet. I always say next Monday. That is the day I am going to start my diet too. HA!
Monday I walked 3 miles.
Yesterday I walked 30 minutes in the morning and ran 3 miles in the evening.
Today I walked 3 miles.
@bopper I started running about 6.5 years ago, which was later in life. If I could stop getting non-running related injuries, I could do a little better instead of feeling I have to start over.
@Mmsfoxxie I thought our show was going to start in July. I got a email from Lifetime this morning saying if you miss it, then stream season 17. What?!?!?
@kate2357 Thank you for your running encouragement. Hopefully I can do better when it isn't so hot. Dogs scare me when I am running too. They get so excited when they see runners and not always in a good way.
@violet runner It is such a good feeling to get back to what you were doing before your surgery. What style of Hokas are you looking for? I found a website that shows when shoes will be released.
@Laura14 It was so nice to hear from you today. I have always felt encouraged by your postings!

Hey all, this morning I did go for a 2 mile walk to the golf course before it got to hot out, and then did another mile on the tread this afternoon. I haven't picked up a weight either, my tendinitis in my forearm flares up as soon as I do that.
@lizzys I hear ya on injuries, I have on-going injuries and I guess just chalk it up to it is what it is. My periformis is hurting most days too, and shoulders. I'm glad I can do what I do.
They just allowed E bikes to go on our walking paths now, and they fly on those bikes, I'm waiting for a bad accident to happen. They need their own lane or something. Imagine walking and one of those goes flying by you, without a warning. I like the bike itself but think it needs a separate lane.
Our grass is so burned up, saying rain tomorrow and boy do we need it.
Oh and I love Hoka, I have the Bondi and the Cliften and prefer Bondi. The cushion is superb!
Have a good night everyone!

@lizzys I like the Gaviota style of HOKAs. I have had the Cliftons and Bondi's too , but the last 2 pr have been the Gaviota. I was going to call HOKA and ask them.. but maybe your site you found would know.
@bopper More and more E bikes out there and I don't think the powers at be know quite where they belong. They do go zipping by so fast and no warning most of the time.
Supposedly there is a speed limit for them, but who the heck is gonna monitor that.?
I don't really think they should be on walking/ reg, biking paths... but where else? Do they fit on bike lanes on the road.. and would that mean they might need a license since it could partly be a motor of some kind? Reg. racing bikes don't want them on the roads.. Your idea of a separate lane on paths for them seem like a good idea- but probably would never be built. I too can see an accident happening with a walker if it hasn't already. One site said E bikes can be on the walking paths if they don't use the assited part of the bike.. Again, how to monitor that.
Usual workouts for me. Went to the rec center this morning and walked the track. I am doing some domestic chores around the home today- so kind of a rest day.
Our temps are heating up.. ugh.. was hoping we would be done with them for this year.
Have a good day everyone. Thanks @Laura14 for popping in!

@violet runner I saw on two websites the Gaviota 6 should release in August 2024. Hopefully they will come out in time for your birthday!
I ran 3 miles this morning, and I wasn't at my best, but at least I was there.

@lizzys I decided to call the HOKA site and they said they wouldn't be coming out with a new version- that ones I have will be it for awhile ( the 5's), but new colors coming in Aug or Sept. Not very commiting.. HA! I'll decide if I can wait.. or just get another new black pr. He suggested I get on HOKA instagram as they will post as soon as new colors come out so I will do that. I did see a Clifton 9 I liked recently in the Obsidian/ Quartzite color- I may go try them in a store and see what I think. It has the black I like mostly- with other colors to compliment.
Thanks again..

Hey all, Today was 5 miles done on the treadmill, I did get a walking pad and have it in front of my kitchen window so watchg the birds while walking, seems much more doeable than in my dark basement, then I can wheel it away when I am not using it.
It's been warm today but the humidity wasn't to bad, looks like rain and we need it bad!
I should maybe try that Hoka, I haven't tried that model before. I have such big feet, they do make my feet look clunky but comfort is to important. Are any sites having a sale on them?
I am itching to pull my fall stuff out, not because I want to rush summer because I do not, but I like the ambience of the oranges.
Have a good night everyone!

@violet runner It was a good thing you called. At least they are coming out with new colors in the version you already are comfortable in. Hopefully it will be a color you like. Most of my running shoes are either black or grey with accent colors.
@bopper All summer I have been thinking about decorating for Christmas. I really don't know why that is. Usually I think of it as a chore.

@bopper - I went a little nuts last weekend with buying Fall decor. Usually don't do that. At least with the colors and designs that I bought, some of it can stay out year round because of the colors I use in my living/dining room. That was my justification anyway. Valerie Parr Hill got me good last weekend. HAHA Was going to wait until Sept 1 to put it out but think I'll do so when it arrives because I might as well have it out as long as possible.

I did not get in many steps today by running or walking. I decided to use the Cubii to at least get to 12000 steps. Mission accomplished.
I am not a fan of fall because that is when our rainy and windy season starts. I hate, hate, hate the dark mornings. I do love fall fashions and being able to wear my boots. ![]()
I did do a bit of shopping the other day at Costco. They had good deals on zip up yoga jackets (got 4 colors) and a couple of jogger pants I could use for running or even errands.
They were having pretty good sales on most of their clothes. I was standing there looking at Levi jeans to see if they had any long enough for my sons (they didn't). A man was digging thru the jeans looking for a particular size (I was helping him). His wife came up and said why do you need 4 new pair of jeans. He raised an eyebrow and asked her what she said the last time he asked HER that question. LOL. She laughed and said....good point. Buy what you want.
Sounded like me and Jack.
